The world "cries out for American and European leadership" through the EU and Nato, US senator John McCain said on Friday (24 March).
In a "new world order under enormous strain" and in "the titanic struggle with forces of radicalism we can't stand by and lament, we've got to be involved," said McCain, a former Republican presidential candidate who is now chairman of the armed services committee in the US Senate.
Speaking at the Brussels Forum, a conference organised by the German Marshall Fund, a transatlantic think tank, he said that the EU and the US needed to develop "more cooperation, more connectivity".

London has a Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan who talks out of both side of his mouth...thinly disguising the depth of his Islamic determination for that faith...he calls Scottish nationalism "racist" and clearly wants England to dismiss the American POTUS, one of England's oldest alies plus Khan will break the bank with socialism on steroids.
The world “cries out” for you to resign your seat you insane fool.
The world groans every time you open your pie hole, McLettuchead.
World ‘cries out’ for US and EU leadership
Hey McLame.. you DON’T WORK FOR “THE WORLD”
Let ‘em cry. They’re a bunch of whiners anyway.
Juan McCain, Six Term Attention Whore from Arizona
BTTT
WHAT ahs this clown accomplished in nearly 30 years as a Senator besides being a reliable critic of Republican Presidents?
so McCain thinks he will have a leadership role in the new world order a traitor by any other name ...
He’s an American war hero. I disagree with him on some issues, but he’s a war hero.
Hey McLame, you had eight years of it during your buddies reign.
The world cries out for E. U. leadership?
Take a good look at the E. U. right now John.
Who in their right mind would ask the E. U. to take a leadership role in anything at all?
Oh yes..., you would. But then I did stipulate, “In their right mind.” So that leaves no one.
The world outside our borders is the only place he is invited to speak.
I remember when he was freed. A moving sight seeing those men hobble off the airplane. The Manchurian Candidate movie had been pullled from view at this point but everyone knew all about it. Some believed it unwise for the POWs to run for elected office, particularly President.
McCain’s corruption has been known for a long time and now he shows signs of poor judgement on the world stage, at best. I will not dishonor the young man who endured inhuman punishment because he was an American soldier. But I’d be relieved if he switched parties and lost his chairmanship.
Oh, and the UK has 4 SSBNs packing around 200 nukes on Trident missiles. While we work about Iran getting a few bombs they would struggle to deploy effectively.
Islam is about to get a turnkey modern system. Within 10 years, Royal Navy captain Mohammed Ali Baba will take his nuclear boomer out on Atlantic patrol.
In 15 minutes, America could be devastated.
For a most of our history, the UK has been a nation that does not wish us well. As recently as WWI we were threatened with military action by them. They said they would attack any US shipping headed into Germany. We were a neutral. For the historically challenged, this is exactly what the Brits criticized the Germans for....attacking neutral shipping.
In the 1920s negotiations for the Naval treaty, the Brits demanded a battleship force twice the size of ours, saying they had global needs. They were planning that they -might- need to take us on.
It’s time we look at the UK not as the relative friend they are today, but begin to plan for the nuclear threat they will be in 10-20 more years.
And even a casual observer notices that the EU and America (as designed) have completely different world goals and values.
This is why “Russia” is the drumbeat. There isn’t the slightest hint that Russia plans to roll through Europe as they threatened to do through the 1980s. But with no Russian threat, it becomes glaringly clear that the USA and EU have no common goals.
