However, multiple reports have pointed out that Gorsuch and his wife attend St. John's, Boulder a liberal Episcopal church headed by a very liberal, pro-LGBT female rector named Rev. Susan Springer.
Opposition to Gorsuch's affiliation with St. John's was voiced even before he was nominated.
Christian conservative activist and lawyer Andy Schlafly, the son of the late pro-life leader Phyllis Schlafly, voiced his concern over the possible nomination of Gorsuch in an email sent in November with the subject line: "veto these Sup. Ct. nominee candidates."
Schlafly wrote that Gorsuch "probably would NOT be pro-life on the Supreme Court" and included him on his list of "unacceptable nominees."
"Gorsuch's Episcopalian church has declared its 'unequivocal opposition' to pro-life laws and he has said nothing publicly pro-life," Schlafly wrote in the email.
Others, including journalist Julia Duin, who previously wrote for the conservative news outlet The Washington Times, have brought up the issue of Gorsuch's membership at St. John's.
"Think about that for a moment. If this man is the frightening conservative that some on the Left are already alleging him to be, there's no way he'd be Episcopalian, much less at a woman-priested church," Duin wrote. "The Episcopal Church, for anyone who's not been following religion trends in recent decades, has been careening to the theological and cultural left for years and its membership statistics show it. Thousands have left TEC and joined alternative Anglican churches."
"A Google search shows there's an Anglican church in Boulder that the Gorsuch family could be attending if they so desired," she continued. "So, the fact that the judge and his family has remained at St. John's says something."

“To kill this nomination because we dont agree with them personally is to say judges cant rule according to the law, that theyre all biased by nature. If thats truly the case, were screwed anyway.
“Gorsuch is the right pick because his history shows he adheres to the law. We all need to pray for him that he continues that on SCOTUS.”
Amen! Thanks for the dose of sanity.
I heard those comments too. He isn’t pro-life.
What about Gorsuch’s wife?
Hey guys, keeping Obamacare wasn’t enough, let’s ruin the Supreme Court pick and do the Left yet another huge favor! Brilliant. After all, no person or bill is ever going to be “conservative” enough, so lets just stopped everything on Trump’s agenda
That Obamacare decision was a blessing in disguise. Ryancare was a disaster. Now maybe we can finally be rid of Ryan.
Please.
That may be true, but discussing things on FR isn’t then end of the world, or insane. It’s discussion on matter of importance to some and of no importance to others.
Why do some get riled up about discussing things like this. Is this taboo or something.
To me it seems worthy of investigating.
See for years nobody was minding the hen house and the wolves came in.
Now it’s time for the sheepdogs to have a turn.
The current court has 3 Jewish members and 5 Catholics and we know that all of the Catholics always vote as a block. /s
“To me it seems worthy of investigating.”
It ignores his judicial record, misses the point of his judicial philosophy, and gets the role of judges just as wrong as the liberals do.
“lets ruin the Supreme Court pick and do the Left yet another huge favor!”
Relax - these religious-testers have no traction in the Senate, thank God!
Gorsuch is the right pick because his history shows he adheres to the law.

Can you give us the details of a few of the cases that would comfort a conservative?
“Liberal Episcopal”, redundancy.
I went to a Jesuit high school. Your comment is stupid.

No, but in my observations most do. I wonder if his wife was always Episcopalian? What was her background?
When I attended confirmation classes with my husband, the class was pretty much people in two situations. A spouse or fiancée converting so the couple and future children would all share the same faith OR the couple was made up of a Catholic and a Protestant of some persuasion and they had determined that being Episcopalian was sort of middle ground and therefore acceptable to both.
+1
Not even when the church endorses the taking of innocent life? I consider the ongoing legality of abortion to be worse than slavery. You?
Going back in time, would you feel the same way about a man who attended a church that endorsed slavery (while legal) simply because it was the church his wife attended?
If Gorsuch had any serious convictions concerning the issue, he shouldn't have married his wife. Obviously he doesn't.
My experience is that as they grow older, men who attend liberal churches grow more liberal themselves, regardless of where they begin on the political spectrum. Those that attend conservative churches become more conservative. Church affiliation makes a difference.
[[He did testify homosexuals marrying is settled law.]]
Nope- He testified that it was —”Abosultely— Settled Law” (Even though no supreme court cases have been heard challenging gay marriage- like the following which he describes simply as ‘settled law”
And also testified that Roe Vs Wade was ‘settled law’ which had several cases that have ‘established precedence’ on hte issue when asked if Roe Vs Wade was ‘superprecedence’ or not
Not sure how he3 came OT the conclusion that gay marriage is “ABSOLUTELY settled Law” even before any challenges have been heard to establish precedence or not
