In a report that aired on CBS Sunday Morning about the polarization of politics and the media in the Age of Trump, Sunday Morning special contributor Ted Koppel charged Fox News host Sean Hannity with contributing to the increased antipathy toward opposing viewpoints that is prevalent in America.
Hannity made no qualms about presenting his own conservative agenda, but objected to Koppel characterizing his viewers as not being able to discriminate editorial content from news.
We have to give some credit to the American people that theyre somewhat intelligent and that they know the difference between an opinion show and a news show, Hannity said. Youre cynical. I am cynical, said Koppel.

Nicely done, Gopher!
Sure that wasn’t Geraldo?
Well, that is the a pot calling the kettle black.
All it does it feed the trolls.
Damn Blather and Fed Coppula, both pulled out of moth-balls for recommission.
A bee bee would sink them both.
“Punish your enemies”
“get in their faces”
“I won”
“You can’t listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done”
“Back of the bus”
“They bring a knife we bring a gun”
“Space to destroy”
“Burn this bitch down”
“Fundamentally Transform”
“Make them uncomfortable”
Now, Lord, if your servant has found favor in Your eyes, could you let me in on next week's Lotto numbers?
(note to fellow FReepers: If I should be struck by lightning before next Saturday, please do not send flowers to my funeral. In fact, I don't even want a funeral. Or a memorial or a celebration of life or anything of the sort. Just cremate me (if the lightning didn't already fry me to a crisp) and dump my ashes into Monterey Bay. Somewhere along the 18th fairway.)
Why would anybody watch that prune face Koppel. You talk about “Has been”!!
Exactly. Hannity makes it abundantly clear that he is a commentator, not a journalist and he is a conservative. No one is being misled watching Sean.
He goes an extra mile and gives liberals a platform to make fools of themselves.
Koppel, otoh, makes believe he is a “journalist” which implies objectivity. That makes him dangerous. In truth, he is pushing a leftist agenda but refusing to own up to it.
Sean, because of his candor, cannot be a threat. Koppel, because of his deception, is by very definition, a threat.
I like Ted Koppel. His Nightline show was more hard news and watchable than it is now that he left ABC.
I still remember the night Koeppel took the word of a Lieutenant in the North Vietnam Army over the word of Swift Boat Vets from his own country because he desperately wanted to help John “Genghis” Kerry. He’s been dead to me since.
Scumabags dont like it when you overturn thier rotten apple cart
But Ted is different, now.
Just like Nightline.
100% true, but also Sean shares the views of tens of millions of people on air.
This is basic stuff.
Pay for what you are doing.
Don’t enable unemployment and growing families while in poverty.
Come to America legally and pay all your own way.
Don’t create debt.
Don’t take from others to buy yourself stuff.
Not rocket science and he has become passionate as of late.
Rush IMO has been sliding the other way.
Ted Koppel tells Sean Hannity he (Koppel) is bad for America.
Agree!! This ancient has been lost his credibility years ago. Totally irrelevant old BS er should have retired gracefully years ago. Credit Hannity for not eating the old fool alive!
I thought that was Whorealdo.
Ted Koppel and Jimmy Carter have a lot in common, spewing crap and not knowing when to shut up.
Someone should ask Koppel what he thinks the "viewpoints that [are] prevalent in America" are, given that Democrats lost over 900 state legislative seats since 2008.
I think that Koppel is stuck in his bubble.

Hannity is probably going to wake up at 3:00 in the morning and say, “Heyyyyyyy! Wait a minute!”
