Republican officials in Congress and the White House are now openly discussing finding a GOP replacement to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as Speaker of the House, after Ryan failed to pass the American Health Care Act out of the House and misled the public and President Donald Trump when he promised repeatedly the bill would pass.
Ryan was caught on an audio file from Octoberobtained by Breitbart News and published a couple weeks agosaying he is not going to defend Donald Trumpnot now, not in the future. While the audio file does not make the comments clear, Ryans staff later claimed that it was specifically about the Access Hollywood tape scandal from the election. The audio tape of Ryan, recorded from a House GOP members conference call, does not make that context clear.
Many allies of the president and several White House officials over the weeks since have confirmed to Breitbart News that the president is concerned that Ryan may not have hisor his agendasbest interests at heart. Ryans failure to deliver the votes on healthcare cement Trumps skepticism of Ryan, they say.

Speaker Ryan proved today that he does not have the best interests of the President at heart, said another source close to the president. He sold out the president and showed his word can be taken with a grain of salt. There is only one course of action that should be taken to move past this catastrophe and that is the swift removal of Paul Ryan from the speakership.
He is rino romneybot uniparty leadership cancer that must be cu out of the party 100%.
Put in whomever runs the Freedom Caucus.
You know, an actual conservative, like Republicans pretend to be.
Romney almost won. It was the 47 percent that ruined him.
IMHO he should not have kept the bill under lock and key for so long. It should have been out for discussion long before he did release it. IMHO a big mistake on his part.
Lyin’ RINO Ryan Is Worthless! He Should Switch Parties!
Didn’t Ryan at one time say he wasn’t interested in the Speaker position anyway? Seems to me he did.
Replacement shouldn’t be too difficult. Replacing with someone who wants to make America great again - not so easy.
I don’t like Ryan and never did but the republicans as a group are pathetic fools.
Ryan just proved to the whole world that he can’t do the job.
Same caucus that supported Ryan for speaker twice, even when he issued idiotic threats the first time he deigned to take the post.
Trump gave Paul Rino enough rope to hang himself.
Gohmert?
I vote Newt Gingrich or Allan West.
Who would vote for a bill constructed by a man that nobody trusts?
He couldn’t show it or people bc would have seen Pelosi’s signature on it.
Breitbart is not Fake News; thanks for posting.
I’d be happy with Gowdy as a replacement. He doesn’t seem as Uniparty as so many of the others. [Mark Meadows would be great, but could he get the votes?]
Ryan is not a leader. He doesn’t have what it takes to lead the house. He should have known he didn’t have the votes and should have warned off the President. He needs to resign an keep a small amount of pride.
The Frelinghuysen of his generation was Henry Clay's running mate in the 1844 election. "The country's risin' for Clay and Frelinghuysen," was the slogan.
The Polk/Dallas ticket won that election.
