White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney emerged from a meeting with House Republicans with an ultimatum. If the House-led effort to replace Obamacare fails, the United States is stuck with Obamacare, according to several Congressional reporters on Twitter. Mulvaney was joined by a group of administration officials including senior advisors Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus, and Kellyanne Conway for an evening meeting with House Republicans in an effort to break the logjam on the bill. Most House Freedom Caucus members refuse to vote for the bill without major changes. Moderate House Republicans have also protested the bill.

The Art of the Deal 101. Prepare to Walk Away
Trump is too eager to get something, anything, passed and signed.
The problem is that Trump simply wants a deal, any deal. Looks like we have a choice between Obamacare and Obamacare Lite. So much for promises, as usual.
Sounds like a plan to me. Congress created Obamacare, and Congress can legislate as Congress sees fit. It’s not as though Trump won’t sign legislation that he finds acceptable, and Congress can change this law two months from now if it wants to. Meanwhile, Trump can get on with executive department priorities.
Its a brilliant move. It will break the logjam.
The attendants of Fedzilla in Congress do not have any intention of really repealing Obamacare.
They want to fix it.
Endlessly.
It sure does look that way. The bias for “doing something is better than doing nothing” is strong in this case.
I think he should walk away from this issue, and move onto something really important.
Like global trade.
Just saying.
TRANSLATION: “You own it, RINOs.”
This is good, Obamacare will collapse on it’s own and the Democrats will be blamed.
He is perfectly willing to walk away. He told them what he wanted, they gave him a bill, he tried to bring the parties back together. They have to face us before he does. They are the ones who said Repeal and Replace had to go first. Now he is done, time to move on.
Fine by me.
Let it die on the vine.
Next year oughtta be a hoot when u ions have to start paying taxes on their Health insurance like the rest of America.
Negotiate the fix next year or the year after...
Health insurance costs more than Healthcare.
I DONT GET HOW PEOPLE HERE ARE THROWING THE WORD “PURIST” AROUND AS AN INSULT!!!
We have the house, senate and president.
It should be a VERY conservative bill.
He does want a deal at any cost and if this thing contains crap he will lose a lot of support
Some around here now think that it can be “fixed” later
When the #### has that ever happened in congress?
Smart....5 times they put a complete repeal bill on Obama’s desk......
Now they somehow can’t manage it......
Call their bluff.....
Blow the lid off the swamp!
“Its not as though Trump wont sign legislation that he finds acceptable, and Congress can change this law two months from now if it wants to...”
That’s right.
President Trump is in the driver’s seat. He can still do the regulation changes and say he could have done more if the Congress had acted.
This is good, Obamacare will collapse on its own and the Democrats will be blamed.
BINGO!
You beat me to it.
let Obama Care die. Get government out of business
