The Fair Point from Devin Nunes That Trump Critics Don’t Want to Acknowledge
National Review ^ | March 23, 2017 9:29 AM | Jim Geraghty

From the Thursday edition of the Morning Jolt:

The Point Devin Nunes Is Making That Trump Critics Refuse To Acknowledge

It’s perfectly fair to ask whether the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee should be traveling to the White House to brief the president when the FBI Director just announced that there is an ongoing investigation into whether there was any collusion between the president’s campaign and a foreign government in the past year.

But everybody’s whacking Rep. Devin Nunes around like a piñata right now, and it’s easy to forget he’s raising a perfectly valid concern.

[-[Cummings, recall, was found to have conspired with the IRS to target conservative groups,]]

Whatever came of that? Nothing? I didn’t even know they found him to have conspired- That’s how little it was covered- Can you imagine if say Ryan or someone had conspired with the IRS like that against dems? Is there no true justice anymore?

[[while there is such a thing as an “inadvertent” intercept, there is no such thing as inadvertent production of a report or transcript of a conversation.]]

Nor an inadvertent unmasking

[[No surprise that Schiff wants the investigation ceased due to compromise now that we have a target in sight...]]

Seriously? Do they think He’ll get it ceased? I hadn’t heard that yet- Again- like you said- No wonder Nunes didn’t go to him first-

IF Schiff is trying to cease this investigation- oh my word- Obvious coverup!

I agree with you .. he is creepy .. I was uncomfortable watching him stare at Nunes, when they were in a joint news conference.

Nunes is one bright light in CA .. and there aren’t many left in the State anymore.

And .. still today .. the mantra continues .. what is the Russian connection to Trump ..????

I don’t know what can be done about it .. but I’m sick of this constant mantra which IS FALSE .. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF SUCH COLLUSION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND TRUMP .. NONE ..!!!!!

“we’re going down a dangerous road when information collected by U.S. intelligence agencies about American citizens starts getting strategically leaked for partisan purposes.”

Even when it proves Trump was right? Mighty big of the National Review to admit that the sky is blue.

I think the senator was talking about the Democrat/Obama operatives leaking about Trump & the campaign/transition. Not about the whistleblower exposing those people to Sen. Nunes.

Agree. If their crimes are ignored, it will formalize one set of laws for the politicians and another for the people. I decided to stop voting in congressional elections when congress exempted itself from Obamacare.

I see no problem whatsoever in Nunes going to the WH.

Criticizing him is like criticizing the police for not alerting drug dealers to an impending raid.

DRAIN THE SWAMP!

>> Trump has to go after these people big time.

Agree 100%!

>> Unless some Obama people get arrested, go to trial and then to jail . . . the Democrat Party and their partners in crime, The Media . . . will never ever acknowledge any wrongdoing.

Respectfully disagree. The media (and all hardened liberals) will continue to deny wrongdoing. They will paint Trump as a dictator rounding up enemies like a Nazi rounding up Jews. They will continue to see everything through the lens of how THEY would behave in his position. This is why Trump/Sessions/Nunes need to have bulletproof evidence against all of these criminals. I am betting there are lots of pictures of Congressmen in bed with minors. Even so, you are going to hear excuses piled on excuses. Entrapment. Everybody does it. It was consensual, blah, blah, blah.

Notice, too, how they liberals are avoiding the issue and instead focusing on the process and the messenger. Never mind that 0vomit and many of his buddies committed serious felonies. Instead pay attention to the breach of etiquette committed by Nunes who failed to perfectly perform all of the dance steps dictated by the liberals.

True enough. They will continue with the “look a squirrel” over Nunes not following their imposed rules of notice regarding talking to the President.

I’m hoping now that we have the majority in everything, and an AG that is not a flaming liberal- who might actually order a real investigation, and not some dog and pony show like the benghazi issue where everyone knew the AG would never pursue it any further- that justice will finally be done

I’m not givign up hope just yet- but if the AG and others drop the ball on this when they have the majority and ability now to prosecute0- then I’ done with holding out any hope that justice will actually ever prevail again in the country-
