Controversial feminist and author Camille Paglia slammed Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg as "insufferably smug," and said her book about women in the workplace was "dishonest."
Paglia alleged that Sandberg concealed her "affluent lifestyle" in the book Lean In, according to a Tuesday interview in Broadly. Sandberg's feminism, according to Paglia, reflected the "excessively bourgeois or white middle-class assumptions" undergirding contemporary feminist thought.
"I thought her bestselling book, Lean In, was utterly dishonest in failing to acknowledge how the affluent lifestyle of women executives like herself requires a rotating squad of servants and nannies, whom she has carefully kept invisible," Paglia said.

Hurricane Camille strikes again!....................
Paglia is the ONLY honest, thoughtful, intelligent sort of lefty there is on today’s scene. And she really isn’t all THAT leftward leaning.
She’s right. Sandburg is marketing, nothing more. Overrated. The media never takes her to task even with all the Facebook live rapes going on.
It often seems strange when two cultural giants clash in public. I recall years back when folk singer Joni Mitchell made statements very critical of Bob Dylan, called him “a fake and imposter”.
I’m thinking, you both are world famous,
highly influential to generations of musicians. So why the continued need to tear another popular figure down?
The answer is often that the same combination of a competitive spirit and an ongoing case of insecurity that made them into a success never really goes away.
They still want to prove themselves as being The Best.
...Paglia ping....
Ok I know who Paglia is but who the heck is Sandburg?
Modern feminism has wrought much harm between the sexes. It sold a bill of goods to a culture that didn't need its "lessons." Like so many movements - it created a crisis where one didn't exist.
“Shes right. Sandburg is marketing, nothing more. Overrated. The media never takes her to task even with all the Facebook live rapes going on.”
Right on. I read her crap book for a book group I was part of (I quit the group right after we discussed this book). The women were going on and on about how wonderful Sandburg is. Ha. I ran in some of the same Washington, DC social circles as she did. Her book made it sound like every day working women could do it all (”I did it, so can you” mentality), but she neglected to mention that she did it with tons and tons of help and lots and lots of money.
Correcto-mundo Camille.
What is it about this woman that makes her a lightning rod? The red pillers talk about her all the time and now this.
Camille Paglia and Tammy Bruce. Two of my favorite lesbians. They have both been on the ugly side of “modern feminism” and they know how nasty, divisive and passé it is.
