Although Ivanka Trump lacks a formal White House job, the president’s older daughter is moving into her own West Wing office, an administration representative said — a move that increases her profile as an influential, although unofficial, adviser to her father.
Ivanka Trump will not be on the government payroll or officially bound by its ethics rules, but she said in a statement to Politico that she will “voluntarily” follow those restrictions. She also acknowledged the unusual nature of her emerging role.
“I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life,” Ivanka Trump in the statement. “While there is no modern precedent for an adult child of the president, I will voluntarily follow all of the ethics rules placed on government employees.”

Agree with your comments. And, aside from the legal questions, appearances of nepotism and undue influence by relatives is generally not a beneficial thing. Perceptions of favoritism or undue influence can lead to other problems.
Gorelick is the lawyer that put out the Directive under Janet Reno that forbade the FBI and CIA from comparing notes that could have prevented 9-11-2001!

Josh Kushner is the Trustee for Ivanka’s Trust. Gorelick is a Trust Advisor.
And she is advising Ivanka on ETHICAL Practices in the WH..which will be a landmine to navigate given their business interests and the way the Dems are looking for ANYTHING to impeach
Not in this case. Assuming Melania and Barron do move in, and I'm not convinced they will, Ivanka will still have more say over things than she will. Trump just depends on Ivanka more.
I think she has gotten to him about immigration....notice he has done nothing about DACA

Yes, but the Boss needs to foster an open environment where advisers feel free to speak their minds without fear of retaliation by relatives. In their zeal to protect their father relatives in the organization often have the unintended effect of suppressing contrary views and information. They also tend to harbor personal grudges against people they disagree with because they see dissent as subversion, when that’s not always the case.
Nepotism, in any work place, can become toxic.
