What could have been in a building under construction that could have caused an explosion like that?
Did we just not have another on of those apartment fires that were under construction.
How far from johnnys in OP?
You guys OK? We were just a few blocks away from the shooting at Austins last month.
Same thing just happened in Raleigh NC a couple days ago...
One last week was in Raleigh NC.
Coincidence ?
I am sorry. Can we have a string for LOCAL news? We have North Korea threatening TODAY the nuking of US cities and troops and we are doing local fires?
My daughter lives in the vicinity. Hope you are well.
OUCH
Open question: Was it ever determined what started that big fire in Raleigh last week?
They build six story apartment building with large footprints, out of 2x4s and plywood, which will burn like gasoline once a fire gets started. They don’t become fire safe until the drywall and sprinklers go in, and the fireproofing is sprayed in the dead spaces. One of these burnt in Conshohocken, Pa.

They’ll think it is a reasonable risk until some fire company gets taken out by the fire gods.
Here’s a video of what the apartment complex WOULD HAVE looked like when completed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSwDvrVuDtA
My son lives about 1000 feet south of the new apartments being built. His place was OK but there were a bunch of homes that suffered from the blowing hot embers falling on the houses. Causing their homes to burn. Tonight there are still 600 homes without power. Very strange situation.
When I left work in Olathe today and saw the amount of smoke I thought ‘well that can’t be good.’ Smoke drifter as far as Springhill
My kids attended Osage Grade School - which is closed - and Broadmoor Junior High in mid to late 1970’s before we moved to Lenexa. Overland Park, as I recall, is a huge area. Haven’t been up there for years but remember 87th Street and Metcalfe area well. Didn’t see any address where the fire occurred but wondered if it was anywhere near there.
I saw this during a meeting at my office.
The conference room had a windows facing south (we’re in Corporate Woods on the 14th floor.)
It looked like an inferno from about a mile away.

From August 2002 in San Jose, CA:
About 150 firefighters from a dozen agencies involved in this one. Property was a month from opening day.
Check for ELFs. They love to arson new construction.
It looks like the final tally was 22 homes damaged in addition to the apartment complexes. That was crazy!! It’s all the wood shingles in those nice neighborhoods. They look pretty but should not be used anymore. That is going to be one big mess to straighten out.
