Checks & balances? More judicial overreach!

Folks, the judiciary is nuts in this nation. Powers exercised by the last occupant of the Oval Office are being circumvented for PRESIDENT TRUMP by fake judges...and now, the very NOTION of separation of powers and checks and balances is being assaulted by fake judges IN FAVOR OF a Democrat occupant of the governor's office.

The attack on Constitutional principles is going unabated.

I don’t even know the details. Don’t have to... the fundamental truths of different branches is that the political branches (ones DESIGNED to be political) are the executive and the legislative. That these entities are able to keep each other from overreach is NORMAL and HEALTHY.

If the legislature can pass laws with supermajority support, these judges are bound to follow the LAW.

Judicial Tyranny. If we allow it, they will impeach trump and undo everything. They are serious, naysayers. While you were working, providing for your families, they were busy creating a system of tyranny, by all means necessary. While we talking and protesting during obama, we had little effect on anything. They are much more powerful.

Just don’t understand why Trump doesn’t ignore these judges, more specifically Maryland and Hawaii. These travel ban issues are placing our country in jeopardy.

Because his Republican "allies" on the Hill are just waiting for an excuse to impeach him and rid themselves of this troublesome gadfly.

This is an assault against a relatively conservative legislature...a state issue. But the trend is clear. Republicans and conservatives are targeted by the judicial branch, be that Trump or the elected representatives of North Carolina or individual citizens like Christian photographers in New Mexico or florists and bakers all over the nation.

Well, it might be because the Republican Party in NC is the stupid party.

The Republican House and Senate were happy working under a couple of laws while the Gov was a Republican. When Cooper won the R House and Senate decided to change those laws.

Now we have this rumpus over BS.

The R’s here in NC need to focus on their jobs instead of this petty crap that gets the left all frothing at the mouth.

If he means Republican law as in a law passed by Congress controlled by the Republicans, than there is the supremacy clause they have to buck to get this one to stick.

Florida’s barking moonbat supremes recently shot down a law that required random drug tests for welfare recipients. We are fast losing our freedoms to judicial tyranny.

Andrew Jackson, plain and simple, did just that, ignoring the judges and proceeding with just whatever he wanted.

“John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it.”

Those are the famous words uttered by President Andrew Jackson in relation to U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall’s 1832 decision in Worcester v. Georgia to strike down a Georgia law that imposed regulations on the comings and goings of white people in Native American land.

This ruling was foundational in establishing the general idea that Native Americans have some degree of sovereignty in their interaction with U.S. governments. The words and actions of President Jackson in relation to the opinion is a historic event exemplifying the ever present debate over state and federal power and the role of the courts.

This eventually ended up with the Cherokee Indian tribe being forcibly removed from their ancestral lands in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Alabama, to “Indian Territory”, which eventually became the State of Oklahoma, between 1836 and 1839. Only, about half of the Cherokee remained behind, hiding out in caves and in the deep wood forests of the region, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians remains on the land in western North Carolina even today.

Judicial overreach can have some unintended consequences.

The story at WaPo is one line.
The same with US News, Townhall, AP - all have the same one line “story”. What’s up with a one line story?

Two links have more - but they are both almost identical.

I have no doubt you’re right.

The historical implications, though, are greater. Bad legislators can be punished via the ballot box...to have judges attempt to unilaterally remove the law making authority is fraught with danger.

I know. But the principle of checks and balances is clearly being violated. Just don’t see how a Constitution respecting judge can rule this way...it reeks of politics. Like the Hawaiian fake judge apparently used Trump’s campaign speeches to attempt to circumvent his immigration enforcement.

Agree that the judicial tyranny abounds...in both cases.

My point was the media/ AP is more obnoxious than ever. A one line “story” - really!

On the point of what trump said during his election, I don’t see how that was a matter before the court. The issue was the legality of the order.

The compost article contains no details on the facts/background that surround the ruling.

It was important to leave out the details, in order to frame the false narrative.

Expect a lot more of this.
