The failed rollout of House Speaker Paul Ryans unpopular healthcare bill has weakened his hold on the Speakership, and could cause his replacement, says David Frum, a GOP-leaning author, a champion for pro-American immigration and labor policies, and a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush.
The prediction came in an evening Tweet from Frum, who is now a columnist for The Atlantic magazine.
I dont believe Trump is strategic enough to have planned this, but the way is now clear for Ryan to be shoved aside for a Trumpist Speaker

Growing GOP opposition in the Senate to the Ryan-backed American Health Care Act also leaves Ryan even more exposed, Frum suggested.
Sen Mike Lee on Mark Levin show predicts the Ryan plan will fail in Senate, probably in House too

In a March 13 article for The Atlantic, Frum argues that Ryans libertarian ideology is losing clout as the GOPs base is gradually shifting to endorse government help for lower-income Americans who trying to pay for their increasingly expensive healthcare.

GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE DIDN’T VOTE FOR THEM TO ‘FIX’ OBAMACARE BUT TO *REPEAL* IT
Didn’t Sundance say something similar last week? I think Trump IS strategic enough. This is totally something he could have foreseen. Again, they completely misjudge him.
Ryan is a snake. While this mess may cost Republicans in the long run, it might be worth it to get rid of Ryan. Democrats are the known enemy, a Democrat/globalist posing as a Republican is a much more dangerous threat.
Anything that sends Ryan to the showers is A-OK in my book.
Breitbart Releases Paul Ryan Audio: I Am Not Going To Defend Trump Not Now, Not In The Future
Oh please—let this troll finally be right—just in this case.
I nominate Louis Gohmert (Conservative, TX) to take Ryan’s place. Solid ideas and the entertainment is free.
It might have seemed like a good idea to put him in that role at the time, but the events of the last few months have exposed a reality that the GOP House members need to recognize: Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election in a huge upset, and a big part of it was his victory in Wisconsin -- which is Ryan's home state that Ryan himself couldn't deliver for Mitt Romney in 2012.
No..but he has a brilliant mind covering his back..psst..ever hear of Bennon? GET RID OF BACKSTABBING BENEDICT ARNOLD RINO RYAN...NOW!!!!
If true, the best news about Capital Hill this Congress...
Good, Paul RINO needed to be Cantorized last year in the primary.
He should never have been voted in as Speaker again.
Many more districts need to Cantorize their weasels before we can expect the House to lean right.
I never will be a fan of Frum. However, one of the oldest tricks in management is put a loser in charge of a highly visible project. Then, let him fail in front of everyone and the world. Then, you can replace him.
Is Trump smart enough and strategic to do this?
Ask Arnold?
GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most here did not believe me when I said that Trump did not like Ryan dissing him with the Devos signing pen. You could see it. Later, someone likely told him Ryan WINKED when he did it.
now, his wink may have been innocent completely unrelated to the diss...but Trump would very likely ponder on the side that it was another part of the DISS.
If not Trump, Ruthless Bannon paid attention. Ryan cannot be trusted.
Ryan needs to be dumped
I gotta tell ya, Trump always said “repeal” and “replace”. So don’t be surprised if what he’s replacing still looks like Federal power grab. It’s not. He’s walking back elements of Obama care and adding certain appendages that weaken the remaining elements of Obamacare.
You may not like it. People in your circle may not like it, but it’s always been “repeal” and “replace”. So you just can’t say Trump isn’t keeping his word, he is and there will never be a flat out repeal.
The fights are about visibility and control. Looks like Trump has set the goal ... repeal and replace, and the house and senate have to form a means to do it. <—— That is the desired nature of politics.
‘Ryan is a snake. While this mess may cost Republicans in the long run, it might be worth it to get rid of Ryan.’
That’s almost an insult to snakes, but I know what you mean.
What would be ideal is for Ryancare to spectacularly implode, and Ryan loses Speakership without saddling us with this horror.
We can only hope.
Do “THEY” ever!
Your logic is pretzel twisted. If there’s never a flat out repeal then Trump did lie!
