Traces of platinum, a metal associated with meteorite impact, have been found at archaeological sites of the Clovis people across the US, suggesting that they were wiped out in a mini-Ice-Age triggered by the impact of an extraterrestrial object.
The Clovis people disappeared from North America about 12,800 years ago. Many of the large creatures they hunted a total of about 35 species went extinct at about the same time.

Are these the people whom we think came from northern Europe?
do we have to pay reparations to their descendants if any? Im sure they will be coming out of the wood work like fauxkahantas warren
Maybe Meteor Crater in Arizona is not as old as claimed. 50,000 years or 12800 years ago.
Even extraterrestrial objects invaded and oppressed these native peoples.
Same one that melted the big glaciers?
ping
No relation to Clovis Leechman?//
Catastrophes happen but sometimes catastrophism is just an excuse for lazy science. After generations of denying that catastrophes effect the development of life on earth some scientists are becoming a little too quick to resort to the “a giant meteor did it” hypothesis. This claim needs more evidence.
Same one that melted the big glaciers?
................
They younger dryas was about 1600 year ....cooling... period. Maybe the meteor shower caused some melting but the resulting dust is reputed to have caused a sharp downdraft in temperatures.
Prior to the younger dryas the earth was warming. After the younger dryas the earth resumed its warming trend.
the clovis points have similarities to arrow heads used in france and spain of the same period.
there is evidence to suggest that the clovis peoples are european in origin.
Maybe Meteor Crater in Arizona is not as old as claimed. 50,000 years or 12800 years ago.
.........
Interesting idea. should be easy enough to google more info on it.
This is not the only data point. There has been a build up of evidence of this sort as to the reason for the sudden cooling and sudden death of clovis people and megafauna in a few short years at the boundary of the younger dryas.
“do we have to pay reparations ...”
LMAO!
Note: Colder is worse. Warmer is better. Therefore global warming = good.
