Shortly before the presidential election, GOP public relations worker Steve Schmidt saw Hillary Clinton “trending over 400” electoral college votes. He also predicted that Dems would retake the Senate and were “close” to retaking the House. We know how all that played out. So you probably want to take this morning’s comments from the man who brought you John McCain’s 2008 campaign with a gargantuan grain of salt.
Asked on Morning Joe what he would tell President Trump regarding his assertion that President Obama tapped his phones, Schmidt went on a rant.
Lowlights:
“This makes you look unhinged . . . if you don’t stop this, it will destroy your presidency.“ “You have no path to be successful.” “You will precipitate an international crisis.” “The shattering of credibility is a fundamental issue with the non-stop lying by the president.”

Are you saying he’s a pile of Schmidt? Who in the Republican Party would hire and pay this guy? I saw him on one of the taped Election Night News shows on YouTube. He is supposed to be some Republican “elder” and election expert - from his continual comments and early evening prognostications, it was evident that he was neither.

The 2008 ticket was supposed to lose.
They did exactly what they were supposed to do.
McCain was the Designated Loser that year.
Romney was the Designated Loser for 2012.
Yeb! was supposed to be the Designated Loser in 2016.

Contradicting a media narrative makes the media mad enough. But Trump forced the media to change narratives from his conpiring with russia as evidenced by secret wiretaps to the condradicory narrative of claimng he wasnt wiretapped. The media is so busy trying to convince themselves that they are impatient and outraged by basic honesty and call it lies.

Correct. And to add to the list of failures:

The article states Schmidt was part of W’s re-election team but Rove was obviously running that.
Add McCain’s miserable POTUS campaign and all the “expert” Schmidt has is Schwarzenegger’s re-election as the only credit on his resume and that “success” as Arnold’s second term turned out to be was dubious at best.
So Steve forgive us if we don’t take your analysis and/or advice too seriously.

Please refer to Schmidt’s Wikipedia entry to review his list of election losses. His only “successes” were riding Rove’s coattails for W’s re-election and Schwarzenegger’s re-election for his failed second term.
