How quickly Republicans have accepted every premise of government run health care. In this episode of the "Conservative Conscience," Daniel goes through the entire timeline of the GOP RINOCare bill as well as each element the regulations, subsidies, spending, and mandates to demonstrate how the political and policy outcome of this bill will be worse than Obamacare.
This is not just Obamacare-lite. It never repeals Obamacare to begin with and the few things it tweaks will exacerbate the existing system. This bill only helps Big Pharma because it guarantees a steady flow of subsidies driven by endless crisis points of fiscal insolvency.
(202) 224-3121. Call your local office as well, and email them.
They will tell you that this bill is better than Obamacare. It is, but only marginally. Obamacare 2.0, as Rep. Justin Amash called it. They could do so much better.
It retains the Cadillac tax -- although it's deferred to 2025. It repeals the individual mandate, yet re-enacts it in a different form by including a 30 percent penalty when you re-insure after being uninsured. IOW, the mandate via the back door. And refundable tax credits ARE subsidies.
Way too much like Obamacare. Only marginally different. The Republicans own it now.
I don't want to tinker around the margins. I want to get rid of it. All the more reason why we must kill the bill, and we must kill it with Republican votes.
How about re-passing the plan Obama vetoed? Apparently, it had enough support to pass, so why not pass it now when you have complete control of the government?
Even better -- the Paul plan.
Fortunately, I don't think RINOcare will pass the Senate, even if it gets out of the House. (They can lose 21 Republican House members and 2 Republican senators.) I believe there are already three Republican senators against -- Cruz,. Paul, and Lee. I wouldn't be surprised if Sasse turns out to be a no vote also.
They might not even get the opportunity, hopefully. Amash has already declared against the Ryancare plan. Hopefully, the Freedom Caucus will stand against it.
It can't be worse. No way.
If Congress passes GOPeCare, WE OWN IT & all the problems that will go with it.
This is Ryan excrement.
And we lose Congress in 2018.

However, this bill would make the situation even worse than Obamacare. Although Obamacare didnt require photo ID and fingerprints to verify identity, it did harness the Department of Homeland Securitys Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database. Thus, officials were at least able to check immigration status against Social Security numbers. The problem with this bill is that because it tweaks Obamacare and creates a new massive entitlement system through the budget reconciliation process, it cannot have the statutory effect of mandating HHS and IRS work with Citizenship and Immigration Services to use the SAVE database because that issue is outside the jurisdiction of the reporting committees. And no subject matter from other committees can be included in reconciliation.
Thus, to pass Obamacare 2.0 instead of plain repeal via budget reconciliation, Republicans must use weaker verification language.
Stifle yourself.
It’s as bad a bill as it can be.
It’s probably just me, but I don’t believe they can build a national healthcare that will give everybody what they want.
Anything they come up with is going to be flawed.
Is Trump backing this or not?
Why is it being called Trump Care. It’s Paul Ryan care to me.
Trump has enthusiastically endorsed RINOcare.
Eventually, someone decides who gets the heart or liver transplant. The question is who.
“How about re-passing the plan Obama vetoed?”
there you go, sounding reasonable again. even that crummy plan looks better than this.
Why would he it’s not done yet in the Congress.
What's he doing?
He's making an "argument" that goes like this: See that there big stack? The big awful ACA. And see that little stack? That's our bill.
And you ask, what's that supposed to mean?
The Independent caught it: "Larger pile of paper bad, smaller pile good
In fact, they seek to add that little pile to the big pile.
republicans: “If we just reduce the page count, this baby can fly again”.
Daniel Horowitz was a Ted Cruz supporter, so he may still be bitter about the election when he says it’s worse than Obamacare.
