Did you know your tax dollars support articles that all but label President Donald Trump racist? And suggest the same of your favorite singers, too?
Consider a new pop culture think piece from NPR.
The headline alone is all you need to read: White Nostalgia Didn't Start With Trump Just Look At Classic Rock
Suddenly, the soundtrack to our lives has been thrown under the bus, and we helped fund it. It begins, of course, with calling Trumps signature appeal racist.
For more than a year, Donald Trump has harped on white nostalgia.
A hearkening back to a rosy, but ambiguous, time in American history with his Make America Great Again slogan propelled his presidential run. It was a message, though, largely not embraced in minority communities, given that blacks, Latinos and women were fighting for equal rights during the same period Trump has indicated he believes America was great (the Industrial Revolution and the post-World War II 1940s and '50s).
Give the NPR scribe credit. He doesnt mince words. Not a bit.

LOL! My 15 watt Fender Blues Junior goes to 12. Unbelievable how much I get out of that little amp. Usually on 4. Mic it up to the PA and it can handle just about anything. And it doesn’t weigh 120 pounds. ;-)
Some would argue that for music to be defined as "Classic Rock", it is blues-based. Blues is perhaps the most wonderful creation in music history, and totally the creation of southern blacks.
Yup. We even backed up the Coasters WAY BACK in the mid ‘60’s. I’ll be 70 in June but I still jam 3 nights a week at various bars around town. Helps keep my young. Play funk one night, classic rock as part of the “core band” on Wed and then on Thur a blues jam. Play with several “brothers and sisters” on Funk night. No problem as long as I keep the rhythm right and righteous. ;-)
I love YES-oops, they were all white and incorporated classical music influences into their music, to boot-I must really be racist. Wait, their quondam drummer Bill Bruford was jazz-influenced, so maybe they were only partly racist-but wait, if he used jazz influences, which were originated by blacks, then he stole their music, so they’re racist after all-it’s hard to keep track of all the nuances, and dog whistles-depends on what day of the week it is-no, days of the week are racist, their names come from white western culture. Damn, a person could go nuts trying to be “woke”.
Thanks.
The Bay City Rollers all look like fine Americans.
Fascinating how libs want America to be South Africa and Zimbabwe. Just fascinating.
Here the classical has gone digital so you have to buy a special radio to hear it if you have an older car so... no more classical music in the car for me.
Nice
White Music - Crack The Sky
When we’re dancing on the lawn
Pink flamingos on the lawn
White music in the street
White music in the street
When we’re swimming in the pool
Pink flamingo barbeque
White music before dark
White music before dark
Take it like it is
No blues, no beat
Take it like it is
No roots, it’s just neat
To play white music in the street
When the band plays at the club
Pink flamingos country club
White music for dessert
White music after work
Take it like it is
No blues, no beat
Take it like it is
No roots, it’s just neat
To play white music in the street
I didn’t know that, it may be the case where I live too, but for years I’ve only listened to my iphone playlists in the car, so I’d be unaware. Actually, the older I get, the less I play music when I drive, not sure why, I just don’t seem to bother as often.
I think "The Platters" "Only You" was the first to really break DJ barrier.
I didn’t know that. I do know that in the evenings every teen’s radio was tuned not to local AM stations but to WLS, WWL, WNOE, KAAY and our personal favorite when we lived in the West, “Yours truly KOMA! Tiger radio!”
Then there's the fact that so much of the schedule consists of programs from the BBC or copies of BBC programming like Antiques Roadshow. Not much in the way of "original content" except for some of the cooking shows
Also troubling is the PBS "news division". Why in the hell does government TV have a news group? Seems almost "Pravda" like and in no way could they ever be neutral, so what's the point?
I'd contribute more than I do now just to do away with the amount of money begging, but I'll be damned if I'll fund propaganda and programming that runs counter to my beliefs especially since they're already getting some of my tax dollars.
LOL! If it wasn’t “Lanny Mintz” on KQEO it was on KOMA (at night only). A band I was in WAY BACK then even got a mention on KOMA cause we were playing at a bar near the Kansas State Teachers College. No it wasn’t Spider and the Crabs. ;-)
C'mon now! You know that down in the hood the boom boxes all be blastin' out Lake Bro-Begone and Click and Cracker.
Dear Christian Toto,
It's Nobody's Fault But Mine (and whoever made the youtube vid).
NPR should be privatized. Maybe someone will make it into a conservative outlet, but I doubt it.

Enjoy.
