House Republicans on Monday evening released the text of their long-awaited ObamaCare replacement bill, calling to eliminate the myriad taxes and penalties tied to the original legislation while still preserving certain patient protections
The bill, called the American Health Care Act, can be read online at readthebill.gop.
The sweeping legislation would repeal ObamaCare’s taxes along with the so-called individual and employer insurance mandates. It also would repeal the Affordable Care Act’s subsidies, replacing them with tax credits for consumers
“We begin by repealing the awful taxes, the mandate penalties and the subsidies in ObamaCare,” House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, R-Texas, told Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier” in an exclusive interview.
Asked about some conservatives’ concerns that GOP leaders are merely pushing ‘ObamaCare Lite,’ Brady countered, “It is ObamaCare gone.”
The first test for GOP leaders, who have been under heavy pressure ever since President Trump took office to release a bill, will be whether the text satisfies the influential conservative wing of the party – which has the numbers to torpedo the legislation. But it is a balancing act, as moderate Republican lawmakers, as well as governors of both parties, also have warned against going too far in rolling back consumer protections and benefits.

I really doubt that because I know that Price’s approach uses tax credits (which are in this bill) and Rand Paul considers tax credits a new entitlement program, and opposes them.

I am multitasking other things and this is stream of consciousness but it needs said. Sorry no HTML, half of it would be 14 point bold if I felt like I had time to foll with it tonight.
We are supposed to be FIGHTING this crap now with our new president, not kissing up and hoping “the cool kids” (”progressives”) will finally like us, like we have tried to accomplish to the detriment of these USA for the last 30 years (and more).
There is so much more to do to fix health care.
Example: What about “ACAs” (”accountable care organizations”) which is one of the most evil things going now? It is just one example of facsism in medicine that must be fixed (gotten rid of) to unleash the free market which is all that will fix medicine to meet the standard that Orthodox Americans demand.
Insurance companies, gosh, want to know in advance exactly how much they have to pay, so instead of MANAGING RISK which is what they are best at, they have now decided to pass all the risks to “accountable care organizations” (ACAs) which are doctors and hospitals and such now forced to bear all the risk of the costs of those who sign up for them, all while jumping through politically correct hoops imposed but elitists, the same elitists who gave us the damn other “ACA” (Obamacare) in the first place. This was a plumb offered to them during the Gruberization of Medicine when public-private (fascist) dealings were afoot, and they are so glad that their little communosociofascist scheme caught on and has now slipped by the RINOs.
ACAs are HMOs on steroids. HMOs failed and should have. It is wrong to set it up so that doctors and clinics and hospitals get paid to NOT take care of their patients. If they spend money on you, they LOSE money in ACAs. CONFLICT OF INTEREST between doctor and patient. Doctors giving medical talks or writing articles cannot accept even a damn PEN from a drug rep without signing forms disclosing that they have a conflict of interest because heaven forbid, that pen might induce them to prescribe the wrong drug.
But it’s perfectly fine to have a fascist system where everyone is incentivized to follow the elitist rules to get a good report card, and the doctors and hospitals literally have to take a deep breath and pay out gigantic expenses if they really think it is the right thing for the patient.
The good doctors will look like the bad ones because they do the right thing to care for the sick and it loses for the system.
But they will be coveted because someone has to do it, “like illegal immigrants who do the work no one else will do, for half the price.”
Might as well let nurses do it. Oh, yeah, the Grubers already thought of that. Except they did not think that the nurses too will be affected the same way as the doctors, the bad ones get paid for their good grades pleasing elitists, and the good ones become the bad ones who then get paid more like, oh yeah, the immigrants who do the real work of taking care of the ill, but they are even cheaper!

Population Care, it’s so good to know when you are sick that your doctor is doing her part to cure the population while you rot. So comforting.
Was that not the responsibility of the Health department? CDC? Doctors who chose to earn their public health degrees also? Nah, your country doctor in the trenches trying to take care of you is supposed to be all the time preoccupied with politically correct population care. In fact if she does not please the Grubers at it she is in big trouble and will get a bad report card.
Now under lovely Obamacare, you can get a FREE $5,000 BUTT EXAM (colonoscopy) at age 50 if there is nothing wrong with you.
However, if you have new severe constipation and stools the size around of pencils, which generally means colon cancer, then colonoscopy is NOT COVERED. Charges will be $5,000 to $10,000. But you probably cannot get a doctor because your co-payment is $6,000 and they know you probably will not pay, if you could why would you have Obamacare?
Same for breast cancer, free mammograms for you (in fact your doctor is bad if she does not HARASS you to get them), as long as nothing seems wrong, BUT expensive upfront dollars all will be paid by you if you have a lump, because that is not “preventive care” but is “diagnostic.” This is POPULATION BASED CARE which the Gruberized elites refer to as “patient centered care, wow, where you have to be talked into things you would not have chosen. They will do that in their “patient centered medical home” where you have to tell them all your secrets and have them recorded in computer systems that are unstoppably and routinely scoured from afar by elitists and their minions of every sort. This is perfectly accurate and is happening right now and our RINOs like it that way.
Make insurance exist for unpredictable severe illnesses and accidents to TAKE CARE OF THE SICK. Predictable and known costs like routine pap smears and mammograms etc should be borne by PEOPLE and not by insurance. People vote with their money. Why should virtually 100% of that form of “choice” be taken away (in violation of the 9th and 10th amendments to boot) from We the People?
So sick people pay what amounts to a tax to HEALTHY people to get free preventive care that often finds out, “yeah, there really is nothing wrong with you.” “Glad your coverage paid $5,000 to us to find that out while that guy over there with constipation is still wondering what it will take to get this cancer taken out. That will keep our report car looking good to we can have some statistics to give to our local RINO to use for the next incrementalist health law he rubberstamps.”
The best thing about Obamacare was that it was so bad that it had to fail. Then we could get rid of it after RINOs failed to get rid of it anyway.
Now the RINO secret plan is to SAVE it? REALLY? NO! Let it FAIL.
PRESIDENT TRUMP if they do not get rid of Obamacare and put back a free market in medicine with appropriate support for STATES to handle their own safety net programs for the poor, the please VETO it.

Yep - some can't stand any progress if it isn't 100% of what they want - even if what they want is just as repugnant to those who think as some of the stuff they don't like is to them.
They rail about tax breaks and probably never gave it a thought when they got the same sorts of breaks on premiums paid before Obamacare.
Add those numbers together because they are still in the law, these are just an addendum.

No, it's not "shameful" ... that's the PROCESS. The House of Representatives drafts all legislation, the Senate then takes it up and either votes on it as written, or makes changes. The revised bill would then go to Reconciliation where both the House & Senate agree on changes before it's voted on and sent onto President Trump.
It would be helpful if people actually understood how our Government is designed to work by our Founding Fathers, rather than make emotional & uninformed statements.

There was nothing "secret" about the bill. The House of Representatives was following a well established process. Rand Paul decided to draw media attention to himself, pitch a public fit and then complain when he didn't get his way.
Sorry, you and those making the same argument you are "fell for it." It was a publicity stunt by Rand Paul to attempt to gain relevancy for himself again. I'd say it backfired.
