Michigan's global search challenge comes after the U.S. government and others have spent hundreds of millions searching for a solution to stop the carp from entering the world's largest freshwater system. If they aren't stopped, officials fear the aggressive fish will crowd out prize native fish and hamper recreational boating in large sections of the lakes...

So we want to keep out agressive invasive fish who can crowd out native fish and change the environment. But we have no political will to do the same with people coming to this country.

I have no idea but suspect that my dog would like them very much. Dead or flopping. Cleaned or not. Cooked or not. Cedar planked or not.

If I remember correctly - they did same for Zebra mussels- were never able to eradicate- even after spending untold millions of taxpayer funs.

Zebra mussels aren’t largely a problem anymore. It was eventually discovered certain fish were thriving by eating the mussels.

I smoked some once. Not bad, from clean water. A bear to clean, but a kick in the rear to fish for with a bow.

I’m not sure if they’re the same but American Carp tastes great but bony as hell. A friend told me his mother pressure cooked them then made fish patties. Wish my mother had been taught that. As a kid I choked on a lot of carp bones.
