UPDATED, 8:17 AM: More numbers are coming in for Donald Trumps debut last night before a Joint Session of Congress, and they are looking good for the 45th President over his predecessors last State Of the Union.
Going low on the hyperbole and heavy on the history, the Presidents highly anticipated speech was a fairly polished performance on a very big stage that caught a lot of Americans attention around 22.7 million actually. Thats up over 25% from what Barack Obamas final SOTU drew among the Big 4 back on January 14, 2016.

Can’t wait to see the same spin job the media puts on this like they did w/ inauguration crowd size....
Me me me, I I I, not a crowd-pleaser, eh?
Ha! President Trump will love this news! God bless him.
I stopped listening the the America hating cross dresser and his wookie manwife/wookie who vacated the white house in January years ago.
A caller to Limbaugh said that an NBC commentator said after the long applause for Trump, something like, “they clapped like that for Nixon”.
He doesn’t need hyperbole as he is now in command of the helm. But, he still needs to call a spade, a spade, every time it is dealt from the bottom, top or middle of the deck.
I heard it....
Gee, I thought he’d do better than 20%. This sounds rigged.
Nielsen had it at a much higher 43 million viwers
Hardly a surprise and I hope the Predident leaves it be. The last of 8 such speeches is a message to watch Gunsmoke reruns on Encore. Given the expectations and fervor of both the President’s supporters and detractors I am surprised the numbers arent higher.Really President Trump should leave this stuff alone. He created a new and powerful image last evening. Don’t do anything small to detract from it.
Well, we can hope can't we, LOL.
TTTT!
“I heard it....” (the comparison of Trump’s applause to that for Nixon).
On NPR coming home from work today a commentator said (paraphrasing) that his past speeches have been so inflammatory that this run of the mill milder speech seemed magnificent in comparison.
I wonder if there is a video of this somewhere I would love to see who said what
I watched on line as likely did plenty of others.
Odd that these statisticians and reporters don;t really mention that but like to say Obama had more viewers in 2009 than trump last night.
