Conway is kneeling on the couch. Other pictures of the same moment show she has her shoes on.
This has, of course, inflamed the (mostly liberal end of the) Internet.
THE HORROR.
SHE IS DISRESPECTING THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.
HOW COULD SHE.
And so on and so forth.
This tempest in a teapot is, in a word, dumb. In two words: incredibly dumb.

First of all, every party not in the White House likes to express shock and outrage at the way the other side is treating this hallowed job and office. Republicans were incensed when Bill Clinton and Barack Obama treated the Oval Office with slightly less formality than did Ronald Reagan, who, famously, always wore a suit coat in the Oval Office.
Obama puts his feet on the desk! Obama throws a football!
This is all par for the Internet outrage/partisan police.
It was dumb when Republicans leveled the charge of Obama and Clinton disrespecting the White House. It is equally dumb now.

I saw another pic and she was on the sofa getting into position to photograph the group. That explains it.
Agree. She moved her legs to help the official photographer AND she was snapping a photo for one of the WH visitors.
If one of our ladies would go over to Amazon and find out which Ivanka Trump dress is being modeled by Kellyanne I would appreciate knowing the item number so I can get it for my wife.
Sorry, this isn’t about Monica, Clinton or Obama. Lowest common denominators in decorum and professionalism is not amoral, but it does not deserve to be blown off, excused or nurtured.
A lady sitting on her haunches, showing parted knees, in a room full of men is not professional, anywhere. In the Oval Office, it is an outstanding lack of decorum.
What other photographers present hiked their skirt or pants to take photos on top of the furniture, or keep their feet out of the way of traffic? Who among them would dare take the liberty?
I can guarantee you it could not please President Trump to have his thunder stolen during the formal photo op of his water shed moment with the black American college presidents.
No one is talking about the President and the college presidents collegial meeting.
When you and I do it, it’s relaxing.
If Obama is signalling to the Muslim world, its a gesture of disrespect, arguably as when he gives the one-finger salute gesture in front of Muslim dignataries. It isn’t by accident. Neither was the middle finger alongside his nose in 2008 during the debates with Hillary. The guy is a showman, and very conscious of his gestures.

From other pictures of this “event” it looks like she was on the sofa to take a picture and at this point is trying to edit her photo or whatever.
O for heavens sake...
This has to be, I am sorry if not, some sort of “southern lady” thing against the other parts of the nation “do what is comfortable” thing. It is not as if she is sitting cross legged with a dress on. At least she is WEARING a dress and looks great in said dress.

1) Melania is the First Lady. 2)Kellyanne has several kids and is just used to getting comfortable 3)She was sitting like that to take photos for someone. 4)If she had sat with her feet on the floor the stinking MSM would have found fault with her shoes, her legs, her hose...choose one or two.
