A suspect is in custody after 28 people were injured on Saturday night when a vehicle plowed into a crowd watching a parade in the Mid-City section of New Orleans, police said.
Police Chief Michael Harrison said in a press conference after the incident that the suspect, who was traveling in the opposite direction of the parade and struck two vehicles, veered off to the other side from the parade, hitting a number of pedestrians before coming to a stop.
The suspect was described by Harrison as "highly intoxicated"; he is being investigated and is at the DWI office.

Someone was drunk at a Mardi Gras parade? WHAT?! LOL!
And the media wonders why the American people don’t find them credible. How do you write this story and not clearly identify the person driving the truck?
Or it could just be a meth-head, coke-head, crack-head, alcoholic idiot. It was clearly some clown that has little value for his life or the life of others.
I see no sense in paying to keep this person alive any longer. Put him out of our misery.

I am not sure I would be quick to say this is a muzzie terrorist or an illegal. A lot of people are plastered out of their minds on alcohol and drugs at Mardi Gras.

Neilson Rizzuto was identified as the suspected drunk driver who plowed a gray pickup truck into a crowd at the Krewe of Endymion parade, injuring 28 people in Mid-City on Saturday night (Feb. 25).
Rizzuto, 25 was booked into the Orleans Justice Center jail Sunday on two counts of first-degree negligent vehicular injuring, one count of hit-and-run driving causing serious injury and one count of reckless operation of a vehicle.
Yup. Times were different in NOLA back then. Out on Canal Street past the cemetery going towards Lake Pontchartrain there was a place named L’Enfants that was basically a drive in bar/parking lot. Multiple cars parked and servers took your order and delivered your drinks to you. People would leave there and go drag race on the not yet completed I-10 bypass out towards Metarie. Not that I ever did that. ;-)

Can’t say I recall that one. But I do remember a bar on Canal street next to where my first wife worked that was run by the Marcellos. Ruh Roh. I even met Carlos’ brother there one time. A little dixie mafia business probably took place there.
