CPAC Offers Utterly Uninspiring Vision for Millennials
Reason.com ^ | 2/23/17 | Elizabeth Nolan Brown

The one millennial-focused panel on the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) main-stage Thursday was titled "FREE stuff vs FREE-dom: Millennials' Love Affair with Bernie Sanders?" It got worse from there.

***

Asked what might bring Bernie-loving millennials around to Republicans or capitalism, the panelists continued to bash Democratic policies such as the Affordable Care Act and the socialist policies that wrecked Venezuela. But they still failed to offer any positive visions of their own. It served as a stark reminder why the Republican Party does so dismally with young folks—in polls, just around 20 percent of millennials tend to identify as Republican—and why provocateurs such as Milo Yiannopolous and others of his ilk are able to command such a share of young, right-of-center attention.

For all the things establishment conservatives think millennials should be against, they have a hard time articulating what young people should be for, how that relates to the Republican Party, and how conservatism and capitalism can help young people accomplish the things that they think big government is needed for.

Meanwhile, at CPAC's millennial session, the panelists pondered instead how to make millennials more patriotic. They concluded that it might help them to visit Washington monuments and the Arlington Cemetery. When policy ideas and politics fail, there are always dead soldiers, I guess.

The Left does no such thing. The left robs you blind, burns cities, throws shit at cops, rapes your sister, kills your brother, and lies to you about it.

But they have great PR! Every broadcast media outlet covers up the bad part of liberalism and only presents what they claim are the good parts.

We need to throw a monkey wrench in their ability to cover up the bad part of liberalism.

Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

From what I see, most millenials have been trained up from early childhood to be atheistic militant socialists with a latent perverted Caligula-like streak and a dash of authoritarianism thrown into the mix. Simmered for years over the low heat of anger and ADD dope.

When they are old, they will not depart from it. The only thing that will change them is the one thing we all pray doesn’t happen; the cataclysmic violence of a civil war, a nuclear war, a dinosaur killing asteroid strike, a 1930s level depression, etc.
Without something that forces them to fight to survive, and to seek deeper values, they will never change.

Guess we’ll see.

Big Media don't provide news, they provide leftist propaganda. Nothing more. We need to bypass them. Social media helps.

OK here’s a vision for ya: Live in Mom’s basement, play Nindendo all day, smoke pot when you can get it and wake up when you’re 45 realizing you’re a waste of protoplasm.

Let’s face it - CPAC and its brand of fagservatism inspires no one. It can’t even preserve itself, much less American or Western civilisation.

No further comment necessary.

Trump won white Millenials by about 8 points.

The path forward to victory over the Left lies within that sentence.

Hint: it's not Trump.

Trump won white Millenials by about 8 points.

That's contrary to every exit poll I've seen reported. Do you have a source?

Exactly. But they WILL find it in the alt-Right, part of whose overall makeup includes a return to patriarchy, REAL opposition to feminism, the uncucking of Feministianity and a return to genuine Bible Christianity, men molding themselves so they can be good role models to mold younger men and the boys they're raising, etc.

So very well said!

The Alt-Right can trace some of its beginnings to the "manosphere."

Glad to see right wingers waking up.

Conservatives, are you listening? You failed!

We need to seize their broadcast transmitters, satellites, fiber cables, server farms, and start broadcasting all the information that they routinely censor.

We need to have mass communications on at least the scale that they currently possess. We need a trillion dollars worth of broadcasting infrastructure to get the truth out to the American Public.

A significant chunk of Millennials and Gen X aren’t working and in a debt mire.

It’s the parents’ fault that the millenials are not being taught core values, accountability, responsibility, self worth through achievement.

“What are Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan “for”?”

Their bank accounts.

While Milo was no great loss, CPAC organizers kicked out Richard Spencer and disparaged the alt-right. Spencer had credentials but was not a speaker. He had garnered lots of interest there with crowds around him mostly interested and non-hostile.

The refusal to consider new ideas especially those around identity (as Whites become a minority) is what dooms conservatism (or more correctly, Conservatism Inc that CPAC so perfectly embodies).

It is not the 1980s; we do not have 70% marginal tax rates; the Soviet Union is gone (and current Russia is not the Soviet Union - or even communist). Usual conservative talking points sound tired and unexciting.

People like Spencer (Radix Journal) offer something new rather than the tired low taxes/more war current Conservatism offers.

In short more Bannon less Ryan. More ‘The Right Stuff’ less National Review.

Side Note:
In his condemnation of the alt-right Dan Schneider claimed it was not ‘conservative’ but yet described conservatism as the political philosophy where the individual” was sovereig; that sounds more like LARP-tier libertarianism. Conservatism has conserved very little, and in the absence of Trump, who they mostly hated, they would not have even conserved their own power.
