NEW YORK (AP) - McDonald's is hoping $1 sodas can help draw more customers into its stores in the U.S. as it fights to reverse four years of declining visits.

Most all, if not all, of the McD’s near me have had $1 soda, ANY SIZE (boo scary!) for years now.
Wish they had kept the $1 menu like it was though. That is what they should not have gotten rid of.
(yeah, yeah, McD - I know - but the $1 menu was OK - I like the breakfast items once in awhile)
Unsweetened iced teas will stay the higher price, if it’s like this program in my area. Sweet tea and sodas are discounted.
Nothing like encouraging people to drink to diabetes.
Here is my idea for donalds regress to about 1970 or so limit the menu to that year use real stuf no pink goo get enlisjh speaking people or kiosks use lard or tallo for your fries
How about food that actually looks like the pictures?
Bring back healthier beef tallow fried fries.
The convenience stores here offer ANY size fountain drinks for 89 cents!............
Wow! 1$ diabetes/morbid-obesity-inducing flavored sugar water!
And that’s supposed to make up for the business they lost when folks figured out they were advocating rainbow homo progressivism?
FAIL
How about bringing back that good ice cream they had when they introduced ice cream cones?
I don’t order ice cream there anymore because it’s just junk.
How’s this going to work in Philly? McD’s exempt from the new soda tax?
Sweet tea is a crime against nature ;-)
... I remember in the early days when the big promotional push was that you could get a meal for under a dollar. Yup .... 99 cents for a burger, fries and soda! Now, as prefaced in this article, you are lucky to get a soda for under a dollar.
McDonalds has had one dollar large sodas in my area for at least three years. (Central Ohio).
I don’t drink soda, so nice try.
McDonald’s will be bankrupt in ten years.
Using real meat might help
How about making food the same size it was in the past. I've rarely gone there in the last 15 years, but when I have because of others with me wanting to go there, I'm disappointed at the shrinkage of the portions. The Big Macs are tiny compared to 30 years ago, smaller in diameter and thinner patties. And the food tastes nasty compared to the old days.
Psst. Hey McDonalds. It ain’t the lack of $1.00 sodas that’s keeping customers away.
Just a little FYI.
After all, In-N-Out's success came with its simplified menu, which allowed the company to emphasize quality ingredients with that simplified menu.
My early days, which might be earlier than yours: worked at Taco Bell in Isla Vista, Cal; menu items were 19¢. So 4 tacos and a Pepsi (no Coke) for a buck.
Ours too....
