WEST PALM BEACH
At least nine planes violated temporary flight restrictions through Monday morning for President Donald Trumps Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago stay, with at least two of those having the unique experience of being buzzed by military jets, federal officials confirmed this morning to The Palm Beach Post.
Eight of those crossed the line on Friday alone, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
Wrong.
I have been getting my tfr notams a few days prior to him being in the vicinity
This is the modern age. GPS has been around for a long time now. Even if that didn’t work, believe it or not a pilot’s cell phone will tell him EXACTLY where he is with the locator in it, google maps or with ATT Navigator.
It is inexcusable to be in a restricted airspace especially if our president is known to be in the local area.
A liberal zealot could easily get one to fly a small Cessna into the area while he shot a rifle into Air Force-1.
You tell ‘em!
Fortunately, none of them was Harrison Ford...
I have a weather radar app on my phone that shows them.
Our problem is not ditzy GA pilots, it is droned aircraft flown into AF1’s nose or engines.
If everybody gets away with violating airspace rules, a drone won’t stand out. There was a thread a week ago NORAD fighters had to go sonic because some small craft had his earbuds in and wasn’t responding to center.
This has to STOP. TODAY.
The TFR’s for the pres are to dam BIG! I remember flying by AF1 on the ground at Los Alimitos, Ca. back when Reagan or Bush was pres. For the last 8 years I won’t even fly within hours of it coming here(LA). Seems it was always coming to Ca. for money. I make a living flying general aviation Cessna 172. Hopefully President Trump will never come to Los Angeles.
ROFLMAO!!!! And something tells me they won’t have ejectors.
I have no idea if this happens regularly but it seems to me like someone could be probing defenses.
That’s totally bonkers. Pilots know exactly where they are flying over. They know for sure they are flying near Trumps place. They should know he is there.
I figure it was 9 trial runs.
Bad thing about this IS the cost of sending our fighters out there to intersept them!!! Why are these IDIOTS ignoring air traffic controllers???
Shoot em down.
Bet the Trump hate would stop.
They’d be totally justified in doing so.
Especially if it continues.
My commercial GPS goes tits up around some airports. I figured it’s meant to do that.
“Or, more likely, the FAA issued a TFR at the last second and these guys werent aware of it...”
The east coast of Florida was BLANKETED in TFR’s this weekend. And on ANY given day, there is a huge amount of flight training going on, all up and down the coast.
The Daytona and Missile Launch TFR’s got extended, and then re-issued due to the weather.
Frequently there is not the required advance notice given in specified advance. Dang things pop up like crabgrass when it is political season. I am not faulting the FAA in this as no doubt the campaigns/staffs likely do not provide adequate advance notice.
I have never heard of a pilot desiring to interfere with a POTUS operation. It would not hurt to simulcast on all approach/dept/tower freqs in the area alerting crews as to TFR activation.
How does one make a living nowadays in a 172? Transporting clients?

A couple years ago we had two sheriffs vehicles show up at my air park. Looking for a Cessna that had flown low and all around a nuke plant we have here in Saint Lucie County. Buzzed it quite low and took their time.
Sherriffs were dispatched to ALL airports within 100 miles.
Determined that some fool was just curious and taking photos.
I am surprised they didn’t just shoot the guy out of the sky and make an example of him.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they do just that when some fool gets too close to AirForce One
Just to make an example.
“Pilots know exactly where they are flying over.:
LOL!!!
Airliners land at wrong airports every year. Stupid (er student) pilots are still learning how to navigate.
I have known of several student pilots fly through live fire military exercises, some with mortar rounds passing them on the way up and then back down. Lost pilots (student and otherwise) are not unknown to ATC personnel.
You think Steve Fossett intentionally flew into that mountain? No, he was lost.
Flying is not like driving a car; with the exception of powerlines, rail lines and rivers, none of that stuff shown on maps is visible from the air. And not all bugsmashers have the latest and greatest in electronics aboard, as there is no requirement to have them.
