Different words, phrases, things like that can be spotted by a good adviser...a profiler perhaps...
You can bet that President Trump and his people have a clear idea of who it is and how it is being done, none of which we know, and we will find out about after it happens...
And do we know for sure the story of the people that didn't pass the test to get Security Clearance wasn't some people who the Administration fired and hasn't been brought out yet??? No, we don't, yet another story is it ‘very fake news’ also???
I’m sure the deep state operatives have never considered that they might be doing a long stretch in a federal penitentiary. For the last eight years anyone aligned with Barry was above the law. I think these weasels will flip pretty quickly.
Does the Trump administration have the guts to follow the leads all the way up? Can the country survive Barry’s conviction and imprisonment?

I disagree. If the leaker is caught by this then it would be known how did it anyway. There more ways to catch the snakes which is good because they won’t get them all with this one.
Perhaps there is brilliance just waiting to burst out. 8>)

Nope!
Use the method to DETECT the leaker, then change the nature of his job and isolate him a bit, giving him a couple insurmountable tasks.
Later, fire him, putatively FOR those failures.
Then use the same technique again, even many times, on future leakers, getting rid of them with the same protocol.
This is NOT just one battle, it is the beginning of a LONG war, as the enemy has VERY MANY troops.
There are many future leakers, people are thinking checkers when they should be thinking CHESS.
The leaker should have a long stretch on the Russian front.
Trump’s been leaking things for weeks finding out who these people are. Once he has a big enough list he’s going to fire/prosecute them all.
If true I would like to see it work.
But any leaker and cooperating reporter should be wise enough to rewrite whatever document or information they are trying to leak.
If only one person has the info or document they would be caught red-handed.
But if there are multiple versions of the same info or document and the leaker rewrites it the odds of being caught go way down.
Maybe that was an intentional leak too.....
Then you need to hope there was only one, and that this false flag ensured him or her. But it might not be that simple.

I want to see these Democrat Operatives go to prison. Find the leaker, and put him in prison.
I’m beginning to think that the whole Flynn flap and asking him to resign was a way to get to the really BIG question, i.e., leaks of classified information. Now, having forced the NSA to resign due to leaks, it’s perfectly appropriate to conduct the fullest investigation possible, using all means at the disposal of President Trump and his Administration. And I think Flynn himself was in on it.
