Far from dead, he was positively exuberant. His performance at a marathon press conference was a must-see-tv spectacle as he mixed serious policy talk with stand-up comedy and took repeated pleasure in whacking his favorite pinata, the “dishonest media.”

Trump’s detractors immediately panned the show as madness, but they missed the method behind it and proved they still don’t understand his appeal. Facing his first crisis in the Oval Office, he was unbowed in demonstrating his bare-knuckled intention to fight back.
He did it his way. Certainly no other president, and few politicians at any level in any time, would dare put on a show like that.

Watching that press conference made me happier than I have been in 35 years.

Interesting factoid: I am listening to this now on youtube and to speed it up I set speed to 1.25x. At that speed, he sounds like JFK. Cadence and accent a little. Interesting. Give it a try.

From what I’m reading, it hit home exactly the way it was supposed to.
It literally is not possible for them to take accurate polls.
Because a sizable portion of the country (and not just people from one portion of the political spectrum) refuses to answer polls. Even if approached by some energetic and charismatic poll worker in person.
And it’s about time! I watched the media manhandle George W. For eight years and couldn’t understand why he didn’t strike back. President Trump did it in grand style!!!
Being one of those... I have to say that I enjoyed that almost as much as one of Rumsfeld’s pressers. I only mark Rummy higher in points for his more precise use of language and accuracy.
This press conference was flat out surreal. I’m so glad I decided to watch.

Public opinion is not important right now. Not until 2019. Right now Trump should just carry out his plan removing criminal aliens from this country and supercharging the economy. Removing these illegal voters will not only help him but will help all the races down ballot. If he does these things future elections will take care of themselves.
