Top Senate Republicans are calling for President Trump to withdraw Andrew Puzder's nomination for Labor secretary, CNN reported Wednesday.
There are four Republican senators planning to vote against Puzder, and could be as many as 12, the report said, citing a GOP source. The GOP has a 52-seat majority in the Senate, so Puzder's nomination would fail if three or more Republicans joined all Democrats in opposing him.
Cheap Labor Express. Had an illegal nanny. It seems to me starting with Slick all Prez’s have nominated for Sec of Labor someone with Nanny problems. WTF?
And where were these objectable asses when Ovomit slithered his wicked alinsky type nominees?? They confirmed them in as little as a week...bastards I’m so finished with them!! There was no freakin outrage or concern from them...ZIPPO!!!
Yesterday Portman and Thune said they were on the fence.
[[He said he didn’t know about the status of the woman,]]
Yep and i got pulled over on the freeway going 185 mph- I was let go as soon as I told the officer “But Sir, I didn’t know the law didn’t allow speeding” And he replied “Well in that case- you’re innocent, being that you were ignorant the law and all... sorry to have delayed you-”
What is His excuse? “I didn’t know I was supposed to find out if she was legal or not before hiring her?”
The nominee also has beaten his wife on several occasions. That should automatically disqualify him!
Don’t withdraw it. Make the turncoats go on record.
Noticed The Hill left out the part where he already admitted it publicly and that when he learned she wasn’t legal tried to help with her papers and got things straight with the IRS.
Years ago, 1 in 8 people in the US was illegal. Today, who knows the number. Legal or not, one in 4 in Austin, TX weren’t born here and one in 5 in San Diego aren’t. If it’s that hard to find a housekeeper, yard man (Romney), or whatever that isn’t legal then the US obviously has a huge illegal problem that needs immediate attention.
Those "top R officials", if they exist, are likely supporting the arguments advanced by the D's.
The principle argument is the assertion the candidate once hired an undocumented alien.
Which is laughable on its face: the D's passionately support the sanctuary cities concept, but will severely punish any American that hires the aliens that live in those cities.
Remember Linda Chavez? They are going to CHAVEZ this person...but I believe something like this was also found in one of OVOMITS nominee and was given cart blanc....can’t remember who it was but the excuse was he/she didn’t know that person was illegal or something like that. I believe that person was still confirmed...it was a black nominee... If I recall correctly!
So did his nominee for Commerce.
Those allegations are 30 years old and made on Oprah.
I thought we were the party against illegal immigration. How is it being a turncoat to reject a guy who hired an illegal and broke the law by paying her under the table to avoid paying taxes?
I don't want ANYONE who did this nominated to a secretary position...or any other position in government. It's not just a LITTLE hypocritical...it's A LOT hypocritical.
Are we going to play politics like the dems...and support his nominee regardless of what he did...or live up to our values and do what is right?
Hadn’t heard that, got a link?
So let's be hypocrites about it then. Since they turn their eye away from such unlawful activity...we should too.
More than rumors, he publicly advocated for amnesty.
What most people forget is that amnesty for illegal aliens is also amnesty for their employers.
If he did not know she was an illegal alien, why wasn’t he paying the taxes at the time?
Make them vote him down. Take the names and put on list for payback.
Linda Chavez is also an advocate for amnesty for illegal aliens like this guy. Glad she was ditched.
Not what we voted for.
Then you will have to turn down Wilbur Ross for Commerce as well.
This isn't about hiring an illegal. This is about 30 year old spouse abuse charges that appeared nowhere but on Oprah. Charges that have been walked back somewhat by Puzder's ex-spouse.
