In my last post I mentioned keepin' it real. She was an invader. He should've bought her a one-way ticket home, with a generous enough of a stipend to establish herself in her homeland.

It’s one thing to find out the landscaper is using illegals in their company. It’s completely different to hire one yourself and keep her off the books until your under the microscope. He was supposed to pay the taxes at the time and report it to the IRS who would have told him they had a no match if she gave him a fake SS#.
He knew she wasn’t legal, that’s why he was paying her under the table and not reporting the taxes.

You are responsible for obtaining their SSN information to withhold SS payments due, along with taxes and all the other government deductions. As a chief executive of Hardee's parent company, he really should know this. When he fails to do so, he becomes as much of a lawbreaker as the illegal he hired. I don’t think the guy should have to do anything. If you’re here in this country, you should be presumed to be here legitimately. If we were checking people at the border, we wouldn’t have to check them later on.

Which is easier, checking people once as they come in or having every employer have to check them? Who is more familiar with the verification process, people who do it as part of their jobs, or an employer who may do this once a year?

Bill Clinton lost one of his initial cabinet nominees (Zoe Baird) over this same issue. If there is one thing this administration should not look hypocritical about, it's illegal immigrants.

Well, why would he have to “pay back” taxes to the IRS, if he thought she was legal? If she was legal, he would have been paying them all along. Doesn’t pass the smell test. I wouldn’t vote for him either. Win some, lose some. It’s not Trump’s fault if his picks aren’t honest with him.

The GOP four have already been vetted by the voters. That is the only approval they need. With the exception of Scott, that is unfortunate.

However, you will find that the legislative branch is equal to the executive branch per the Constitution and Trump just can't order them to vote his way; nor can he threaten them in the way you suggest.

You are ready to play dirty by suggesting the hope their records are squeaky clean? Over a measly minor cabinet position? A position many others can fulfill.

If you are ready to hit the panic button and play dirty over a minor cabinet position, what is it are you going to do when the stakes are higher? Such as votes on repealing and replacing Obamacare? New tax policies? The Wall?

With the Senate requiring 60 votes for any of these issues to be passed, Trump will need 8 democratic votes, which means the only way he is going to win is to get out and promote his policies with speeches in those states in which he needs those democrat senators' votes, such as Missouri and Montana, etc. which applies public pressure.

I don't quite understand why people think the legislators need to be threatened, perhaps even illegally threaten.

If he thought she was legally here, why wouldn't he be paying the appropriate taxes to begin with?
