that are 'wrecking' US image around the world with anti-Trump rants
Show business legend Pat Boone has come out firing at stars who use awards season to launch rants at the US President and his policies.

Boone, 82, lambasted Meryl Streep for her Golden Globes speech in January where she denounced Donald Trump's ideology and accused him of mocking disabled reporter Serge Kovaleski in his campaign.

The Moody River singer said he feels that she refused to give Trump a 'chance,' as well as saying Hollywood shuts out conservatives and is '99% liberal,' to the detriment of the nation's image around the world.

He spoke while arriving at the 25th Annual Movieguide Awards, which celebrates faith-based and family movies.

Boone, who has enjoyed seven decades of stardom, claimed that many modern actors and actresses are destroying the industry by making 'degraded' films simply due to their liberal views.

'Now, first of all, I don’t think that award shows are the place to express some narrow political view,' he said when the subject of Streep's speech was mentioned. 'Now, it’s not narrow to her, or to most of that audience. But to most of America, who had elected a man that she detests and doesn’t wanna even give a chance to.'

Bone cited Trump's Electoral College victory and his voters' conviction that 'he’s gonna lead us into a more moral and a more economically sound and military strong life. She doesn’t wanna give him even a chance, and she was acting like he was all but criminal and depraved. And, course, she got a big hand for it.'

FTA: "When The Hollywood Reporter asked him about the possibility his speech might cost him work, he said: 'I’ll give you a very simple answer: I don’t care. I genuinely, in my heart, do not care if I ever work again. I don’t care." And surely he's not the only celeb who can walk away from the show biz sleaze without any negative financial impact. Putting principles before ego. I always thought of Pat Boone as a class act. We saw Mr. Boone in G-D's Not dead 2. One of the very few celebs with a brain.

The Democrat party is on life support.
Maybe the Dems should be brought before a "death panel". Zeke Emanuel, on of the brains behind 0bamacare said there's no reason for anyone to live past 75. Since liberals like to use tortured logic to interpret the law, would this include political ideologies as well? Democrat ideals as was know them started under FDR over 80 years ago, so they would be well past their expiration date.

Pat Boone is aging so gracefully. A very nice looking man to this day.

Conservatives tend to age more gracefully than liberals, I think.

Love that CD. Always got a kick playing it for my parents and grandparents. They would joke they were "into" heavy metal.

His good words are certainly agreeable and appreciated by me, but I’m almost old enough to know who he is.
Doubtful he has any clout among anyone outside the geriatric set.

I remember that. Years earlier he covered songs like Tutti Frutti Many people thought it was at best corny, but Mr. Boone explained that it was his way of showing the parents at the time that "race music" their teenaged kids were listening to, or as it was derogatorily called "screaming n****r music" really wasn't so bad. If anything one could call Pat a LIBERAL for having this view.

Pat Boone heard that nothing can kill him, so he tracked down nothing and killed it.
He can finish a gallon jug of milk in four seconds.
Using a fork.
He can sing Rootie Tootie in 94 languages, including Latin.

My husband has taken to listening to 50’s music as of late ( I have always loved it). He came home from work the other day and told me to listen to this song and he told me I would be shocked at who was singing it. The son was “Speedy Gonzales” and it is super funny and Pat Boone was the singer.

We laughed at the lyrics and thought if this song came out today it would deemed racist. I love older music the music from today pales in comparison.

Pat Boone used to lead singing in our church. Always pitched the songs too low. Never forgave him for that.

Of course, I’m kidding. I admire the way he has maintained a consistent kind and reverent attitude over many years.
