The Oroville Dam is the highest in the nation.
Not to mention that someone in the CA govt said they wouldn’t back down regarding the sanctuary cities.
Basically flipped Pres. Trump the bird...

Oroville Dam workers said the governor had known about it for a long time

Oroville weather forecast, National Weather Service. Moving the map one can find rain and snow forecasts for the surrounding mountains that drain into the lake. Lots and lots of rain coming. So the rain coming just to Oroville lake isn’t the problem really, it’s all the rain coming from all over that will drain into the lake.

Meanwhile, here’s the GREAT Victor Davis Hanson on the mess:
There is two videos up there by the same guy. Less than 300 views. Explosive stuff. Brown knew in 2005 and wouldn’t spend 1.5M to do the maintenance. Bullet Train.
This is out of one of the principal engineers mouth. This is the guy that came up with the ‘fill the hole with rock’ solution.
Looks pretty reliable. Just like an engineer - no sense of politics at all. He has no idea what he’s done to his career if this goes viral.
Wait, that must be an error. I read today the governor stated this is the first he knew of problems at Oroville...
He wouldn’t lie, would he?

Oroville dam break would flood almost 200,000 California residents in 7 hours
Feb 14, 2017
This animation details a worst-case scenario in Oroville, Calif.: dam failure. With 3.5 million acre feet of water held behind the dam, floodwaters would pour through a huge section of Northern California. Residents closest to the dam would have just minutes to evacuate.

Lol! That’s exactly like the engineers I know!
Before I fled the state a decade ago, it was my observation that there were two political forces in California: The Democrat Party and Conservative Talk Radio. (There was no Republican Party.)
Which brings up the question: Are the local hosts of conservative talk radio stations (like KSFO) stepping up to the plate (on this Oroville mess) to substitute for an absent Republican Party?
When I lived in Northern California, my definition of a really big rainstorm was one that filled the rain gauge three times.
Do you expect if this scenario were impossible they’d even bring it up?
I wonder what is going on behind all the closed doors in Sacramento. ..whether capitol, Sac Bee, political types, ordinary citizens. .
Hah!
My point was they’re only prepared enough for 3 inches coming in. There’s going to be a good deal more I think.
That’s a good question. I am not a radio listener so I don’t know.
Ping to 887, 930 and 950. Some good info here in case you haven’t seen it yet.
I'm guessing Brian Sussman (KSFO) has a few comments on this. I found a recording of his morning show on his web site (here) and am checking it out now.
(email, btw)
