White House press secretary Sean Spicer called on McCain to apologize for his comments.
"The life of chief Ryan Owens was done in service to his country and we owe him and his family a great debt for the information we received during that raid. Any suggestion otherwise is a disservice to his courageous life and the actions he took. Full stop," Spicer said.
The senator rejected a call Wednesday from White House press secretary Sean Spicer to apologize for his remarks.
"I don't need to listen to that. My record speaks for itself," he said.

McCain’s nasty, bad habit of running to the media to rail against President Trump is not serving him well primarily because President Trump now has an official White House response through Sean Spicer along with his own extremely effective Tweets which immediately reach millions of followers and subsequently various news outlets. LOL.

Wasn’t it a missile “accidentally / incompetently” fired from McCain’s plane that started a big fire and killed many sailors on an aircraft carrier (the Forrestal?) during the VN War? Didn’t he also spill his guts about everything when the VC tortured him?
It was called a wet start.
McCain did lose two Navy aircraft while piloting them. One crash was found to be be McCain’s fault, the other due to an engine failure of undetermined cause.. A third was destroyed on the deck of the carrier USS Forrestal when a missile fired accidentally from another plane hit either the plane next to McCain’s or, less likely, his own aircraft, triggering a disastrous fire that killed 134 sailors and nearly killed McCain. A fourth plane was lost when he was shot down over North Vietnam on a bombing mission over Hanoi.
A fifth alleged “crash” turns out to be a misinterpretation of a flight accident that did not result in the loss of the aircraft. McCain admitted to causing that incident through “daredevil clowning” but returned safely.

Well, McCain is an ace. Flew into power lines, crashed, ejected from, blew up or got shot down in five different planes.
