Hey Guys, Put a Ring on It

Marriage is not worth it. It’s not worth the financial sacrifices, the lost sexual opportunities, and the lack of freedom. All in all, it’s a ball and chain — of little benefit to any man interested in pursuing happiness and well-being. This is the view that we’ve encountered from many young men of late.

I’m 55 years old, I gave my husband 5 kids, and I currently weigh 105.What do you look like? I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. You seem to be painting all women with the same broad brush. Consider therapy for the anger and hate you have in your heart.

I’m 55 years old, I gave my husband 5 kids, and I currently weigh 105.What do you look like? I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. You seem to be painting all women with the same broad brush. It's said in the manosphere that woman are inherently solipsistic ("It's all about *me*").

Nobody on this thread has mentioned or accused you. Consider therapy for the anger and hate you have in your heart.

It's today's women who have become masculine, non-submissive, promiscuous, dishonest, and unhappy. Feminism blames all of this on nasty MEN. Did you bother to watch the P*ssy Rally in DC following Trump's inauguration? They are the ones with anger and hate in their hearts.

Today's young men have seen what their fathers went through; they've seen women posting on Facebook and elsewhere about their sexual escapades through their 20s and then demanding to get married as though still a virgin when it's time to have children (and then divorce-raping the guy later); they know that in today's climate in the West, marriage is like playing Russian Roulette with half the chambers loaded.

Why are single mothers celebrated when most of the out-of-wedlock births are to women who never married, and not they carefully-cultivated image of "he ran off with the secretary" ?

Good luck on "rebuilding the mound."

PM coming.

lots of male FReepers have no love for women.
The “make a sandwich, iron a shirt and give me a @@” crowd are represented here.
They either think they are funny or they are idiots. Either way, marriage is work for both partners, not just women to please your man.
A relative just had his wife finally leave after 30 plus years, after he stopped working, REFUSED to get a job beneath his payscale, lost their home, and talk about getting fat? He’s a hamplanet, but wants to have a supermodel wife on his arm. Goes both ways.

No photo evidence needed. I have 4 girls and 1 boy. God bless you and your family, as well.

Would you tell this loser what I look like? He doesn’t believe that at age 55 with 5 kids that I still weigh 105 and wants photo evidence, which I won’t do. He wouldn’t believe me anyway and would say I plucked the pic off the internet.

Since you wanted me to post it publicly, here it is.

55 years old and still 105 lbs after 5 children, eh?

Pics or it didn’t happen. (Google Maria Kang “what’s your excuse” for more) ;-)

Women today are NOT what they were when I was single: try reading (for example) “Texts from last night” (http://www.textsfromlastnight.com) to see what I mean.

“Serial monogamy” (fornication with only one man at a time—mostly, except when you’re on vacation overseas) seems to be the norm. And well-conducted sociological studies have shown a woman’s risk of being divorced after 10 years *doubles* if she has had more than one sexual partner before marriage.

I blame iPhones and social media: male attention is like crack to women, and they all chase the same top 10% of men.

When they get pumped and dumped, they make three mistakes.

1) they blame the ‘nice guys’ in a case of sour grapes. They find the ‘nice guys’ boring compared to the titillation of the bad boys. 2) they assume their *marriage* market value, is the same as their *one night stand / fling* market value — “I got a 9.5 to sleep with me, so that means I can marry one any time I want, once I want to settle down.”

3) they forget that their most valuable asset to attract a man for commitment — their youth and freshness — fade quickly: and are positively destroyed by drinking and promiscuity.

I got one of the last remnants before the marriage market went to Hell. I’m about your age.

I’m 5’ 10 1/2”, and my weight varies seasonally between 190 and 200 lbs give or take a couple. She’s 5’ 9”, blue eyes, blonde hair, around 155 lbs, and literal Hollywood model level legs: I once bought her $500 boots from Nordstroms, and when the clerk put them on, he literally *gasped*: it was the first time I’d ever seen a high-end salesman break composure.

We both lift, take vitamins, and do distance cycling when time allows. Still married after over 30 years.

Closing on 60, I would say that marriage is not as necessary as before. It was a good way to raise kids but if my wife leaves me or dies, I am not going to remarry.

Closing in on 63, there is no way in Hades I would ever remarry...once is enough for me. Still married after 30 years, though, and still working at it.

My 3 kids know to avoid a potential spouse with a large family. I married into a large family, and have 6 sisters in law. You cannot imagine the drama that takes place. For years, our vacations were with her family...I finally had to put my foot down to spend a week with my sister and her family.

Even my (29 YO) daughter has wondered out loud to me where her mother's loyalties lay. My 6 YO grandson splits time between his parents, so at least I see him every other week. Friction is created (unnecessarily) when there's a family function (niece/nephew birthday, etc.) during the off week. My wife goes on and on about how our grandson needs to be there at those functions, putting my daughter in an uncomfortable position.

My daughter's learned to deal with it, and has developed a strong spine. I'm on her side, the paternal grandparents deserve the same amount of time with him (he's the only grandchild on both sides of the family). If I say anything about it, my wife acts hurt. Adjustments are made for super-special events, such as when I took the boys to Nashville in December (it was his father's week, but it was an easy call. My grandson's favorite team is Gonzaga).

My two oldest children will be 30 and 28 this year, neither of whom have any intentions of getting married. We also have a 15 YO son, who is your typical, hormone raging, teenager. It's a challenge...lol.

Here's a pro tip: nobody on this thread attacked you. They attacked the behaviour of other women, and you responded by making unfounded personal attacks.

Maybe you should redirect your chastisement towards grown women who prance around the nation's capital wearing replica genitalia on their heads and listening to deranged has-been actresses hissing about how they are a "nasty woman."

Who in their right mind would EVER want to wife that up?

He’s a card-carrying clinical narcissist and he’s projecting the things he’s doing onto me. The use of psychological abuse doesn’t work on me, I recognize it for what it is. Read through the thread, it’s easy to see.

Amen.

The attempt to project just shines the light on the truth.

I wouldn't take it personally. Most married women over 50 don't fit into the issues that the MGTOW and other "red pill" men groups have legitimate complaints about and there is still a sizable by minority of women that are younger that are quality too but most were snatched up for marriage long ago (ie my wife ~10.5 yrs ago).

The dating quality of women on the market place is horrible - you basically have the top 50% of women (in attractiveness) sleeping with the top 10% of guys on an extremely regular basis - sometimes to quite frequently without even going on a date first. Especially the younger ones (<30 y/o) are completely bored by nice guys and only want the bad boys and the so called clown game guys. Most of the single young women today (18-35) can't cook, don't clean - and I'm talking about their place not their guys, spend every dime they can get their hands on and then some shopping for clothes etc, and are glued to their iphone and can barely hold a conversation. About the only thing they bring to the table is their looks.

And then if you do get lucky and find what you think is a good woman - you still have a 50% chance of getting divorced raped -75-80% of all divorces are initiated by women and 95%+ of all alimony and child support goes to women. Even if you personally haven't gone through it, there isn't a guy over the age of 30 that doesn't know a half dozen or more guys that have been divorced rape financially - and in at least half those cases the wife just was bored and wanted other men.

And if you are in a situation like me where your income has gone up nearly 10x since you got married - you worry your wife could get bored at any moment and leave for another man, take half the assets and I'd also be on the hook for $60-70k/year in alimony for the rest of my life - which at 35 is a long time hopefully for me - and that's without us even having kids and her having a 4 year degree!

The TLDR version of what I just said - "nice" men feel like they are getting the raw end of the stick these days with quality of women available and the financial risks. Yes, men can do more to help the situation (be attentive & supporting, stay in at least decent shape) but alimony and child support laws need to be massively updated for the modern world of no-fault divorces or more and more men are just going to opt out of marriage.

The problem isn’t necessarily that all women are evil and all men are good, or any such nonsense like that.

The problem is simply that the playing field in the divorce/marriage/family arena is NOT level, and that women have enormous power in that arena. People with too much power, even with good intentions, will usually end up using such power selfishly.

The point is that there used to be trade-offs in marriage, for both genders. Now men have most of the responsibilities and women have most of the rights.

My almost 19-yr old son is wise to all of this and he has gone full-blown red pill. He will never (thank God) get married. He has no desire to be used by either women or society and then discarded like a piece of expendable garbage.

We are both working on my 13-yr old son to make sure he takes the red pill, and is vaccinated against our gyno-centric society.

I don’t care if she’s hot, more that she’s honest. Many women exaggerate to garner praise.
