In conversations between the White House and Jerusalem ahead of PM Netanyahu's visit to DC next week, the US administration is reportedly attempting to lay the groundwork for the two leaders to support a two-state solution, despite the recent acceleration in settlement building.

It had been my understanding it envisioned a two state solution as long as the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza would recognize Israel’s right to exist, and follow through accordingly.

Yes, Trump is going to support a “Two State” solution — to California. You will have the free State of Northern California and the southern state of “Marxist Californication”.

It’s part of the reason why I have advocated Israel to issue an ultimatum to the Arabs there, and demand they either start working in earnest for peace, or get evicted.
One draw-back with that. Once you move all the Arab shields out of the way, Israel is wide open for massive missile attack with massive WMDs.

Trump appoints people he disagrees with. For example Mattis supports two states, or did in 2013. There are possible solutions to the demographic problem of too many Arabs in Jewish Israel which need to be considered. Doesn’t mean Trump agrees or will push for that, but he will push for solutions because he is a problem solver.

This is the 3rd time I’ve seen it here in the last few days. If one bothers to google this, one finds nothing but foreign propaganda sites mentioning this “news”.

I heard last week he told bibi to stop building. God give him wisdom about this. I hope Franklin Graham and some of the other religious leaders still have his ear. He’d better start attending to the God who put him in office.
I’m not immune from that same perception.
This is Trump’s ego at play. He thinks HE alone can “make the deal” no one else could. What he doesn’t get is that Israel was occupied by Muslims 1400 years ago and only liberated in the past century. They are not occupiers of any land. The remaining Arab occupiers must be resettled or contained within a security permimeter. They cannot have a “state” because they are just Arabs. We already have 21 Arab states and don’t need a 22nd — especially at the cost of the tiny, SOLE Jewish state. There is thus no “deal” to be made at all...just surrender at the cost of Jewish lives. Skip it, Donald.
Trying to agree with the Palistinians is a fool’s errand.
I can’t think of any solution with dishonest brokers who want Jews driven into the sea.
