This is Trump’s ego at play. He thinks HE alone can “make the deal” no one else could. What he doesn’t get is that Israel was occupied by Muslims 1400 years ago and only liberated in the past century. They are not occupiers of any land. The remaining Arab occupiers must be resettled or contained within a security permimeter. They cannot have a “state” because they are just Arabs. We already have 21 Arab states and don’t need a 22nd — especially at the cost of the tiny, SOLE Jewish state. There is thus no “deal” to be made at all...just surrender at the cost of Jewish lives. Skip it, Donald.
No, this has nothing to do with Trump's ego. During the campaign he spoke about how difficult a negotiated peace would be and of essentially giving negotiations one shot ... and then out.
