Lower levels of professional baseball, as well as the upcoming World Baseball Classic, will have a radical rule change. When games reach extra innings, teams will begin their at-bats with a man already on second base. If it works well, the rule could eventually work its way to MLB.

Just pull up 1st and 3rd and erase the lines. Remove 1st, shortstop and 3rd basemen. He has to make it to 2nd and back to score.
No pitcher needed either. Just use the t-ball stand.
Oh, and time the innings. Each side gets 5 minutes, no matter the outs.
Just do a Home run derby.
Stupid idea.
But, I recall a Mad Magazine proposal from years ago for boring games. You know the support columns that block some fans view of the field? Well, teams should install them all around the stadium. When fans concentrate on eating their hotdogs and popcorn, having fights over beer, watching fights over beer, there won’t be any desire to actually watch a game.
What’s next? A mercy rule?
The old ITB or International Tie Breaker rule. Used extensively in girls and women’s softball. The runner is the last batted out. The first at bat usually tries to sac bunt the runner to 3rd and then two AB to get them home. It was implemented in tournament play when you needed to finish the games in a time frame.
Not a fan of this in BB.
Pull one of the outfielders and make the pitcher throw underhanded.
The no sliding and no running into the catcher rules did me in, and the umpires not knowing what an infield fly was during a playoff game. Baseball sucks.
I read a lot of baseball stuff, haven’t heard this before. Hope it’s a hoax.
Appalling. Not a chance in Hades of reaching MLB.
They solved this problem in Rollerball - first, no time limit (that's baseball anyway), second, no penalties, third, no rules! Make it a sudden death playoff, where the first team to have a player killed loses the game.
Or, cut the price of beer in half and make the teams drink too. Ticket sales would soar.
Why?
Attendance isn’t falling fast enough?
It’s not down enough already?
Why be concerned about wins and losses? Just institute a “tie” category after 7 innings and be done with it.
Stupidest thing ever.
Have the pitcher roll a die toward each batter and the number showing tells how many bases he gets. A 6 gives him 1 run and he ends up on second. The catcher brings the die back to the pitcher.
The next guy gets a 1 and now there are men on first and third.
The next guy rolls a 4 which scores 3 runs.
That half of the inning is over, since each roll is also worth an out at the end.
No time consuming walks or strikes. No bats. Too dangerous. The infielders and outfielders are witnesses to make sure correct scoring is kept.
No fans allowed since they are too noisy when drunk and they tend to wake up the players. I like baseball, but I can't stand looking at it anymore. It's a great way for a lot of people to waste time. It's better than golf for that.
NO.
I tried to tell y’all that baseball was goin’ to hell when they foisted that designated hitter on us.
First base, of course. Something's are wrong, like the DH. Add this new rule to the list.
Crazy.
I will NOT institute this rule for my 1960’s Strat-O-Matic teams.
BEGIN at second base!?
many guys never even GET to second base...(just look at the D pansy brigades for starters)
