HYDERABAD, India — When the Islamic State identified a promising young recruit willing to carry out an attack in one of India’s major tech hubs, the group made sure to arrange everything down to the bullets he needed to kill victims.
For 17 months, terrorist operatives guided the recruit, a young engineer named Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani, through every step of what they planned to be the Islamic State’s first strike on Indian soil.
They vetted each new member of the cell as Mr. Yazdani recruited helpers. They taught him how to pledge allegiance to the terrorist group and securely send the statement.
And from Syria, investigators believe, the group’s virtual plotters organized for the delivery of weapons as well as the precursor chemicals used to make explosives, directing the Indian men to hidden pickup spots.

It has long been known, if the CIA had done its interviews right to everyday muslims and not listened to “experts” who were moles, that the caliph (foreign government) gives the talkin points and fighting orders at the mosque and never refers to the Bible or the Koran.

Every one in a while NYT journalists get it right and this article looks like one of those times.
Of importance is the fact that this article destroys the “long wolf” crap that ignorant journalists, talking head psychologists, academic-types, and many politicians spew as though they knew what they were talking about.
Again they have underestimated the intelligence, organization and dedication of our enemies, be they the old Japanese Imperialists and Germans re their can’t do counterattack in the Ardennes forests in Dec. 1944, the Red Chinese invasion of No. Korean in 1950, and the Viet Minh/Ho Chi Minh/Lao Dong Party of Vietnam’s campaign to subjugate all of Vietnam long before the ink was dried on the useless Geneva Accords of 1954.
The West’s ability to delude itself and to make heroes and experts of these homegrown deluders is one of its’ greatest weakenesses. 9/11 proved that beyond any doubt.
The first rule of warfare of any kind be it overt or covert is to “EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE ABILITIES OF YOUR ENEMIES TO DO THINGS YOU SAY THEY WON’T AND CAN’T”. That is what gets you and many others killed.
