Disney CEO Bob Iger, one of the few entertainment industry executives asked to attend President Donald Trumps policy forum at the White House this week, has refused the invitation.
In December, President Trump described the policy forum being held at the White House as a meeting of CEOs and business leaders who know what it takes to create jobs and drive economic growth. The event was organised by Blackstone chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman and Bob Iger was considered one of the more high profile attendees but a source has told The Hollywood Reporter that Iger will not be there.
Many executives from large companies are still scheduled to attend such as SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon and General Motors CEO Mary Barra. Travis Kalanick of Uber has been attempting to calm recent anger from Uber users over what was perceived as the companys refusal to participate in an hour long strike organised by New York taxi drivers to protest President Trumps temporary travel halt.

Disney tolerated Gay Day, would not risk discrimination suits, told employees to treat it as any other day. I seriously doubt that old Walt would have allowed it.
Disney’s upper management is almost certainly university-indoctrinated proggies now, as are most (all?) large corporations.
We have so much ground to recover. This is a generational war.
Disney needs to quit hiring these liberal leaders or it will really start backfiring. Sooner or later, there will be a cost with disparaging half their customers.
He hasn’t finished training him yet. He wants his severance.
Take away his H I B visas. Dirty UnAmerican SOB
Global company Disney is compromised by foreign interests. They are anti-American.
Regardless. They allowed their tacit endorsement to propagate. As a consumer, I am not required to ‘understand’ their particular ‘stand’ on that aspect.
This sidebar isn’t the only thing about Disney in the last 20 years that have bothered normal Americans. I’m not going to go into it because I simply don’t have to. JUST LIKE MILLIONS of other Americans who have come to the same conclusion.
I am not willing, nor do I ever intend to bend over backwards to a company like Disney, frankly.
You guys can think what you want, but it doesn’t give you the right to condemn anyone else (especially epithets) about it.
Done.
Of course a "rich state" is a state with high taxes and a "poor state" is a state with low taxes.
No. That’s what people like obama do, eg have the IRS go after political enemies. But half the country supported Trump and there’s the potential for a lot less business to their parks.
Boycott Disney
Wow, off your meds?
No. But Disney apologists are.
Anyone who does not believe that Michael Eisner and Bob Iger successfully created the most effective anti-American pro-perversion propaganda organization in history either doesn’t have kids or is not paying attention to what they watch.
FYI - I did not condemn you. I related facts regarding Disney and Gay Day. And you are unaware of how much I am on your side. I just cringe when I see FReepers going off half-cocked on misinformation (I have to watch out that in myself in my eagerness to hammer the other side); makes us look just like the proggies.
Not surprising, Disney is big on replacing American workers with foreign H1-B visas.
I refer you to post 31.
Seems to me you chimed in on my response to someone who called me an a$$hole. Your response was more towards endorsing the epithet than otherwise. Take my ensuing response how you want, I really don’t care.
Further, I am DONE with this “concern ninny” crap about how “it makes US look.” I wasn’t “half-cocked;” it was a regurgitation of decades of duplicitous Disney crap.
No matter what we do or say we will be condemned by their side. You had better get used to that fact and not be so concerned about castigating those on our side.
Are you trying to equate anything about Disney’s founder with the Disney of today? Honestly?
Can you read?
Yes. Very well. But you mistake that what you say means anything to me or is relevant. Also note that I have not denigrated you about reading skills or anything of that ilk.
Have a great day. I just don’t need the no-value-added here in this conversation.
Agree they should have to pay a price. How about a federal investigation of their misuse of the H1B visa process? Land on them like Obama landed on Gibson Guitar. Uniformed enforcement officers, herding Disney white collar workers into holding rooms while their offices and computers are searched?
Somebody resists verbally? Cuff ‘em and book ‘em Dan-O!
