Senate Republicans took an extraordinary step Wednesday to move forward with two of President Donald Trump's top Cabinet nominees after confronting a boycott from Democrats across the aisle.
Republican lawmakers on the Senate Finance Committee -- the panel that oversees the nomination of Steve Mnuchin to be Treasury secretary and Rep. Tom Price to be secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services -- gathered for the second day in a row with Democrats on the committee refusing to show up. Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, pointing to the "extraordinary circumstances" of the meeting, allowed the Republicans on the committee to vote to suspend the rules of the committee. Hatch said the Senate Parliamentarian approved of the procedural maneuver.

Awesome, if true.
It’s CNN, so I guess we’ll have to wait to verify whether this is true.
This is war...our bombs aren’t doing any good if we’re afraid to drop them.
OMG, the Repubs found their b***s?
Hahahahahahahahaha!
Maybe the Democrats will now threaten to hold their breath until they die.
Hahahahahahaha!
Snowflakes are melting
Dems should boycott entire House and Senate.
I hope so!!
I think I just saw a pig fly.
So where did Senate Republicans get the testosterone? Was it Fed-Exed in?
Dock the rats for an unexcused absense.
Will Schmuckie Schumer be reduced to tears again?
It’s about freaking time. It’s now obvious to everybody that all the Dems want to do is prevent Trump from having his team, or delay it as much as possible. Faced with such rank partisanship, the Republicans have no choice but to disregard the Dems, as they showed themselves not to be worthy of respect. It’s about time our side fights fire with fire!
Of course, the Repubs know that our side was starting to get angry AT THEM, while the Dem voters were thrilled with the Dem Senators’ obstructionism. So, something had to give.
Same thing that Reid and Pelosi pulled when they were in control.
House and Senate ‘rules’ are nothing more than agreements between members about conduct of business. ‘Rules’ aren’t specific required tenets in the Constitution.
The spoils go to the victor. We need to dispel the notion of “across the aisle” and power sharing - forever. That’s what the Democrats do.
Doesn’t CNN usually disapprove of obstructionism?
That’s the way you do it! Kudos Mr.Hatch
They need to act like they aren’t even there.
Screw them.
