Despite President Trump’s executive order temporarily suspending the refugee program, the U.S. government gave 872 refugees waivers to be allowed entry into the country this week, Reuters reports.
A Homeland Security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the waivers, noting that the refugees were considered "in transit" and had already been cleared for resettlement before the ban took effect.
Refugees preparing for resettlement typically have severed personal ties and relinquished their possessions, leaving them particularly vulnerable if their plans to depart are suddenly canceled.
The waivers, granted by the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), came amid international protests against Trump's rushed executive order. Critics said the order in some cases was not clearly communicated to the agencies responsible for implementing it.
It was not known if additional waivers would be granted, the official said. The document did not give the nationalities of the refugees who will be admitted into the United States.
The refugees to come to the U.S. this week were approved under the Obama administration. Under the former administration’s procedures, the process took approximately two years and required a background check and multiple interviews.
In the future EVERY REFUGEE SHOULD BE SHIPPED TO “SAFE ZONES”. They don’t need to come here or to Europe.

Really? We have massive homeless problem in this country and we can’t find anyone to fill these units?

I have read that refugees are given ‘cash assistance via several different government programs- one being SSI and another through ‘Temporary Assistance for Needy Families’- another through ‘Refugee Cash Assistance’- after being here for 7 years they get medical assistance through medicaid, through ‘State Children’s Health Insurance Program’ or through ‘Refugee Medical Assistance’
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program feeds them for up to 9 years

Let’s just set up ‘safe zones’ in their own countries for them.

When Obama was letting in all those illegal aliens and put them at the top of the line in front of IMMIGRANTS who had waited for long periods to enter and had fulfilled every requirement to do so, there were people from around the world who got stranded, who had indeed “severed personal ties and relinquished their possessions” but Obama couldn’t care less...
I exchanged messages back and forth with some of them...there was one Christian family in Africa (a black family) who had their visas to enter..the well educated father had already given up his professional job and was training his replacement, and was coming to a good job in the US, they had sold their home and were due to leave that December which was just weeks away...they already had purchased the plane tickets for the father, the mother, and the children...He had got a message from the US Consulate that week to wait for an indeterminate time and not to travel in December after all...
He asked what do I do now I will have no job and the buyer moves into my house in December...
Where were the JFK “protesters” about this man and others around the world ???
Oh and about those so called “severed ties” what is that about ??? cell phones keep families in touch and EMail is free...and these so called “poor refugees” seem to be able to waltz back and forth to visit any time they want to...some of those detained at the airport had already been to the US at least once...

Yes, ALL “safe zones” should be in Muslim countries. IMHO there is no a reason in the world why the primary safe zone should not be set up in northern Saudi Arabia. It’s close to the “action” and there is plenty of land. And Saudi Arabia was a primary financier of the Sunni rebellion in Syria & Iraq -— so they should deal with the blowback.

Time for Mr Trump to address the American people directly. That’s one great advantage the Pres has to go around the MSM. Of course there will be the endless babble by the MSM after such a discourse, but most don’t watch that stuff anyway.

This is the new model for the United States. Whichever side loses, demonstrates and protests and tries to impeach for absolutely no reason.
