Donald Trump is obsessed with the media. And the media is obsessed with Trump. Let’s take it as a given that this obsession is unhealthy. The last time there was such a level of neurotic fixation and overwhelming distrust between a president and the press was during the Nixon administration. The current White House would be well aware that the press won that war—and that the stakes now can be mortal.
Indeed, each side believes that, given its druthers, the other would kill it. So how does this bitter and potentially lethal game play out?

Some good lines in it.
For example..

Showing that the media is trying to create the news!!
Another line showing the media is trying to create the news.

Their main focus here was to call him neurotic and compare him to Nixon.
Trump is not obsessed with the media. He just realizes that the traditional media is manipulating the message (news) to suit their political bias.
And he also realizes that the social media (digital media) is causing the print, audio, and video media to become obsolete.
He is merely hastening the transformation for the good of our country and the truth.
The article is written as though the fight between Trump and the Establishment Media has resulted in a draw.
It has not. Trump’s popularity is soaring, while the Establishment Media’s credibility is low and dropping.
They are and will remain clueless.

I agree. It’s the media with the unhealthy obsession. More heads have Trump living in them rent-free than the reverse.
This media is determined to show Trump who’s boss.
It may prove impossible to win out against the establishment machine constituting as it does the intellectual high ground of not only America but much of the world. It’s been on the make for over 60 years.
The Democratic Party is only a small part of it - the political wing.
Is this at long last an admission about the Silent Coup? I haven't read the book, I need to, but G. Gordon Liddy says it's the only Watergate book that is accurate (and he was there).
And the media is partisan and the enemy.
The media is used to having their target fold and whimper. President Trump will have none of that; he just keeps moving on.
Nixon was pre-Twitter.
I also think people have heard it all. People over 35/40 years old who vote in this country have seen the media throw out the same old accusations to any politician right of Stalin. Everyone the media hates is a facist, a sexist, a nuclear threat to the world. Its the same crap that they’ve thrown at every politician who is a republican for YEARS. Same old play book, that never amounts to the horror they spout. If anything the right always capitulates and goes along with the left out of fear of looking like a bad guy. That’s another difference Trump doesn’t care if he looks like a bad guy to the media and their little circle in DC , New York City and in LA. Trump doesn’t care because he’s talking to the people so he doesn’t back down and takes them on, something they’re not used to. And all their accusations are nothing but fake hysteria and exaggerations. So when someone has the guts to call them out, like DJT does, they really don’t have much of a leg to stand on because none of their accusations have substance.
LOL you pretty much just summed up in a couple sentences what I just wrote a paragraph on stating the same thing.

The “intellectual high ground” is the conceit of atheism. As such it is barren of truth. Liberal universities, progressive think tanks, liberal pulpits, social justice warriors, all are committed to the absolute superiority of their adherents over God fearing patriots. They are all dripping egotists with no character, no intelligence, and no manners. There is no “high ground” there to hold.
