SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – The state of California is studying ways to suspend financial transfers to Washington after the Trump administration threatened to withhold federal money from sanctuary cities, KPIX 5 has learned.

“California could very well become an organized non-payer,” said Willie Brown, Jr, a former speaker of the state Assembly in an interview recorded Friday for KPIX 5’s Sunday morning news.

“They could recommend non-compliance with the federal tax code.”

It would be great if Trump sent a bunch of troops to CA bases and called it just an exercise.

In every conflict, there as collateral damages. It would be in their best interests to either leave or join a resistance movement. Guerrillas can fight for freedom and liberty under a righteous banner.

“Whereas, the laws of the United States have been for some time past and now are opposed, and the execution thereof obstructed, in the States of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas of California, by combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, or by the powers vested in the marshals by law: now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, in virtueof the power in me vested by the Constitution and the laws, have thought fit to call forth, and hereby do call forth, tho militia of the several States of the Union to the aggregate number of 75,000, in order to suppress said combinations and to cause the laws to be duly executed.”

Just pull it out of the drawer and change a couple names...

“Yep! Lake Mead, without it they are in trouble. And don’t forget the Caltrans pensions :-)”

And stop all payments for college tuition on federal loans.

It’s said that they give more out to the Fed tax than they get back...well if that is the case let them hold back their funds and let the Fed hold back theirs. Let California fund every state program with their excess of funds they would have sent to the US government. Let them fund the Social Security payments of Californians living there as well. We’ll call it a pseudo “block grant” tranche of Federal funds that the us gov never recieved to in turn give back to them anyway!

Who exactly is "they"?

If we are truly a nation of laws the perpetrators must be arrested and tried first.

The Jade Helm 15 military training exercises were held in Texas, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Utah. Trump should hold the next Jade Helm in San Fransicko, Lost La La Land, Sackashito, and New Dork City. I’d include Chicongo but that is an active war zone.

“the Bay Area and Los Angeles” And Sacramento

REAL men in Texas have been grumbling about secession for years, but haven’t done it.
Why would those urban cowboy phags think they can?
It is too laugh, another empty threat from the left.

California could very well become an organized non-payer,

Hey, this could turn out very well. And California could end up not having their electoral votes count also.

My very conservative family lives in CA and are fed up with the criminal mayors and governors who refuse to enforce the rule of law.

If Cali wants to play tough, trump should threaten closing all the Army, Marine, and Air Force military bases here.

To all the hate-California crowd who cheer for earthquakes destroying the state, killing the populace, you need to understand 3/4 of the state is red and the owner/operator of Free Republic is a CA resident.

As a Southerner may I suggest that if they do secede we dust off the “Sherman Doctrine” and burn California to the ground from one end to the other.

Probably only require incineration of a 15 mile wide coastal strip and careful destruction in detail further inland. This Northerner agrees. Hard labor for surviving insurrectionists.

A few moneyed libs telling the rest of Cali how to live. The fed money won’t hurt them or their childRen anyway, as they are exempt via bank accounts. Nor Cal.. it’s past time to take the state back or declare Nor Cal it’s own state.
