My very conservative family lives in CA and are fed up with the criminal mayors and governors who refuse to enforce the rule of law.

If Cali wants to play tough, trump should threaten closing all the Army, Marine, and Air Force military bases here.

To all the hate-California crowd who cheer for earthquakes destroying the state, killing the populace, you need to understand 3/4 of the state is red and the owner/operator of Free Republic is a CA resident.

I've given this some thought.

The left is looking for a President Trump overreaction.

Sending in troops or Federal Marshals is EXACTLY what they want. Then they can claim Trump is a fascist Hitler.

The response should be more nuanced.

Right now, Trump is cutting of Federal money to sanctuary cities, only. California threatens a tax revolt. In response to a tax revolt, the counterattack should be multipronged:

1. Suspension of ALL Federal monies to the entire state of California.
2. Initiation of lawsuits that will eventually end up at the SCOTUS.
3. Suspension of water from Lake Meade<
4. Seizure of California state property under a tax lien.

Those should bring California to their senses.
