On January 20, 2017, the final day of the Obama presidency, America's national debt sat at a total combined amount of nearly $19.95 trillion.
Since President Barack Hussein Obama was inaugurated into office eight years earlier, he, the democrats, and a few spineless republican "leaders" in congress have increased the total combined national debt by over $9.3 trillion:

In this time period, the debt has increased precisely $9,320,427,506,299.41, and worst of all, the overwhelming bulk of this is debt held by the public which has been borrowed from foreign governments like the communist Chinese, and printed by the Federal Reserve Bank, significantly devaluing the precious U.S. dollar.
The publicly held debt incredibly more than doubled under the Obama administration. Think about that a moment: president Obama accumulated more publicly held debt that all previous 43 presidents combined! This is an absolutely mind-blowing increase of nearly $3.2 billion each and every single day of the Obama presidency. 9.3 trillion dollars is approximately $29,000 for every single man, woman, and child in the United States.

He took the money returned from the Bush stimulus and spent that as well.
Bush sucks, but that trillion is not on his back, it was directed away from the Treasury by 44.

The Republicans were the majority for most of Obama's term, and he didn't spend a penny not appropriated by them.
This is squarely on the shoulders of the GOP. They allowed the federal government to run for eight years without securing a budget. We expected it from the rats but by allowing continuing resolutions for eight years they let the dems spend with no accountability.
0bama asked for it - the GOPe/RINO Congress GAVE IT TO HIM! What part of Congress holding the purse strings did people miss in High School Government Class?
Oh, that’s right. Any of us that graduated after, say, 1975 weren’t taught how Government By, For and Of The People works.
I don’t care if President Trump takes draconian measures - this NEEDS to be addressed. Both the debt itself AND how Government is supposed to work.
