Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has invited President Trump to address a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Ryan made the announcement during a GOP leadership press conference this morning. "With this unified Republican government, we have a unique opportunity to deliver results to the American people. And in the days and weeks, we look forward to laying out more of our agenda," said Ryan. "To that end, I am inviting President Trump to address a joint session of Congress on Feb. 28. This will be an opportunity for the people and their representatives to hear directly from our new president about his vision and our shared agenda," the Wisconsin Republican said.

Exactly. Google,’ paul ryan, a better way’. These are the policies he wants to push. Kinda like the globalists ‘third way’. He’s a snake.

Thanks, DoughtyOne. I’m one of those who “put aside their initial thought on him.” Glad I did.

Now, if some like the previous poster would give up their insistence that Paul Ryan is the Devil Incarnate, President Trump and Congress just might pull off the Great American Restoration!

How many Dems will stay away?

My first thought as well.

will Trump have new material with legislative specifics?

The dems don’t need to ever show up for two years. the dems in congress have no value

I was approached by someone on the forum and asked what I thought of Trump in the April to May 2015 time-frame.

They tried to refer me to his platform ideas, and I tried to gracefully decline. I told them I couldn’t see myself supporting him.

(I’ve searched over and over to find this exchange, and can’t find it. I’d like to look back on it now and give that person props for trying to get me to take a look early on.)

At any rate, on June 13th, 2015, he announced. I listened. I liked what I was hearing. My early intent was to simply get folks to listen to him, then make up their own minds. I didn’t want folks digging in before they had seen his policy goals. I thought they were pretty good.

I held off endorsing him for several months. I wanted to give it time to see if he would waver. He didn’t. I bought in. I backed him and voiced support for Cruz as the V.P., follow-on president, and a later SCOTUS pick.

By October I had had enough of Cruz. I disavowed him for anything.

I’ve been in the Trump camp since August of 2015.

If he had changed or waffled, I would have had to change my mind. He didn’t.

He’s still on target now, and I salute him for it.

My first thought as well.

And my next thought was “how many Republicans stayed away from Obama’s first address to a joint session of congress”?

There is nothing in the Constitution about a SPEECH, and nothing about its frequency.

This would be a STFU speech. A “juvenile spectacle,” as Scalia called it. Trump should decline, and make a huge deal about the money he’s saving.

I am fairly confident Paul Ryan will get his comeuppance in a way that destroys his career.

I’m a guy that doesn’t trust Paul Ryan any farther than I can drop kick him.

I’m not going to trash him every day, but that’s my take on him.

If he pans out to be good, good for him. If he gives any inclination of trying to block Trump, or ‘defang’ Trump’s policy, I’m going to be furious with him.

One old trick I’m trying to watch very closely, is the offering up of a bill that sounds like Trump’s plans, but lacks certain tenets and goals.

If he tries one of those end runs, I’ll also be furious.

McConnell
Ryan
McCain
Graham
Rubio

The five men that can do more harm to Trump’s realization of his goals, than anyone else.

What is this “our” agenda he is talking about? When did he become the president?

Ha sit dawned on anyone that he may have now bought in to the Trump agenda? One can hope so.

"Looking forward to it and the mad rush among the RATS to be the first one to scream, “You lie!”

No, I expect them to do something even more embarrassing, Like a massive walkout as he speaks ( after shaking his hand down the isle to get the press in their district ), wearing some clothing or pin with "meaning" or that pacifier thing they did on the house floor with coloring books.

Their symbolism has no bounds however, if P-DJT continues to rack up wins w/ Manufacturing, Unions, and Small business and the "numbers" start looking better in less than a month, they will look like absolute dolts if they become a barrier to success and they will play a price politically.

Instead President Trump should do a “fireside chat” from the Oval Office direct to the People.
