Not fair! Only liberals are allowed to make fun of conservatives. That's the way it has always been so when someone like Donald Trump jokes about liberals it is absolutely intolerable. Not only is it offensive but dangerous since jokes won the election for Trump.
That pretty much sums up the attitude of New Yorker television critic, Emily Nussbaum, in her January 23 article. Somehow it is just not right that liberals are mocked. Nussbaum is so upset by this cultural turnaround that she even attributes it to making Trump's victory possible as you can see in the title of her article, How Jokes Won The Election:

My thought exactly. Ridicule, when applied properly, is a highly effective tool.

Wow, I have not read The New Yorker in so long I forgot why I hate it so much. Its the smarmy twist of words that apply logic to concepts that are not logical. This lady misunderstands a lot. I don’t know the person at a Trump rally who chanted “lock her up” and was kidding.
Trump was not kidding 99% of the time. When he stopped making money and started spending hundreds of millions of his own money, he didn’t do it for a joke.
And when he took a hit on many of his businesses, he certainly did not take it as funny. Nor did he take the attacks on his wife and child as funny either.
Trump is a very serious man. As he moved through the election like a tank moving through a battle field. He absorbed every first shot. Identified the location of the shooter. And returned fire. Then he moved forward.
If the New Yorker thinks Trump is a comedian, not serious, just doing this for the ratings and the laughs, they will be in for a shock. Trump did not make his fortune playing around. He will be the most energized president we have had. He will be the hardest working president we have had. And he comes to the job with a single working mantra for for his administration, “America first”.
Show me the previous President who came to the office so single minded. Show me the president who put the people above the party or any ideology. This is a serious, easy to follow man. Who takes the constitution seriously. Who takes his voters seriously. Who takes his commitment seriously. There are very few jokes here.

Just goes to show, comedians included, liberals have no sense of humor. They can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it.
