Not fair! Only liberals are allowed to make fun of conservatives. That's the way it has always been so when someone like Donald Trump jokes about liberals it is absolutely intolerable. Not only is it offensive but dangerous since jokes won the election for Trump.
That pretty much sums up the attitude of New Yorker television critic, Emily Nussbaum, in her January 23 article. Somehow it is just not right that liberals are mocked. Nussbaum is so upset by this cultural turnaround that she even attributes it to making Trump's victory possible as you can see in the title of her article, How Jokes Won The Election:

Ah, once again a defender of the party of the perverted and corrupt, the party of the murder of innocents and of identity madness, such a person defends calling those opposed to the horror that is the left “deplorables”.
These people live in such an insulated bubble. They were relentless in their savaging of Reagan and both Bushes when they were in the White House, and it will be far worse for Trump than those three men combined. Trump fought back against his attackers and shined the light back on them. Maybe for the first time ever some Democrats, especially in the midwest, took a good look at their party, and didn’t like what they saw in Hillary. Shine the light on the rats people flee. That’s what the Democrats fear. Get beyond their rhetoric, race baiting and name calling they are the emptiest of suits and they know it!
Indeed, she was the biggest joke of all.
While the disgruntled Prog Leftist Socialist Femanazi Homophile racist DemoRats lost the election fair and square, I get great comfort in the complaint that ridicule is a two edged sword.
Well I read the whole thing and it is very clear that she watched a great deal of television. The question is: Can she continue writing this kind of crap for the next four years?
