Inauguration Schedule of Events
The inauguration of Donald Trump as America's 45th president is the highlight of several days of pomp and circumstance in the US capital. Here's a look at the timeline of events.
Thursday, January 19
10:35 am - Performances begin at Lincoln Memorial. "Voices of the People," the first act of a day-long public concert, will feature groups such as the DC Fire Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Republican Hindu Coalition, high school marching bands, choirs and baton twirlers.
3:30 pm to 4 pm - Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in honor of the nation's veterans.
4 pm to 6 pm - Trump will deliver remarks during the second act of the concert at Lincoln Memorial, dubbed the "Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration." The event, broadcast live nationally, will be headlined by country stars Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood and feature a fireworks finale. Trump is expected to spend Thursday night at Blair House, the presidential guest residence across the street from the White House.
Friday, January 20
Morning - Trump, Pence and their families are expected to attend services at St. John's Episcopal Church, just steps from the White House.
Afterward, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcome Trump and his wife Melania to the White House for morning tea. The two couples will then travel together to the Capitol by motorcade.
9:30 am - Inauguration ceremony begins on the west front of the Capitol with musical performances.
Attendees will include members of Congress, Supreme Court justices, diplomats and the public. Former presidents Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will attend, as will Trump's election opponent Hillary Clinton. Former president George H.W. Bush is in frail health and will not be present.
Sixteen-year-old soprano Jackie Evancho will sing the national anthem. The Rockettes dance troupe will also be performing, at a time yet to be announced.
11:30 am - Opening remarks. Religious leaders will offer the invocation and readings. Pence will be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Noon - Trump will recite the oath of office, administered by US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. He will use president Abraham Lincoln's inauguration Bible, as well as the Bible that Trump's mother gave to him at his Sunday school graduation in 1955. Afterward, Trump will deliver his inaugural address.
12:30 Ceremony ends.
Afterward, in keeping with tradition, Trump and Pence will attend the Congressional Lunch in the Capitol.
3 pm to 5 pm - Inaugural parade. The newly minted president and vice-president make their way 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) along Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House, trailed by some 8,000 parade participants. They will include members of all US military branches, as well as high school and university marching bands, equestrian corps, first responders, veteran groups and even a tractor brigade.
7 pm to 11 pm - Trump, Pence and their wives will make appearances at three official inaugural balls, two of which will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the other at the National Building Museum. A number of semi-official and unofficial balls also will take place throughout the city.
Saturday, Jan 21
10 am to 11 am - Trump and Pence attend the interfaith National Prayer Service, held at the Washington National Cathedral.

Seems like the ghouls have been nicely held at bay, off howling in the rain and darkness of night, unable to find a camera.
They should keep it that way. Without all the breathless coverage, it wouldn’t be nearly so much fun chortling in protest, while drowning in the rain.

Good Evening Trump Family!
How does it feel???
What a year it has been...I remember when Nikos volunteered to do the rally threads, and I believe it was just about this time in 2016 that the Trump supporters found sanctuary on the rally threads :)
We posted our dinner menus, our activities, and what we would wear to an Inauguration Ball should we attend :) Pictures from rallies were shared. Many friendships were formed!!! Little did Nikos know Mr. Trump would be having as many as 3 per day several times per week ;) Thank you to Nikos and everyone who contributed so much to the many rally threads here on Free Republic. Thank you to Jim Robinson for providing this wonderful place to share the victory!!!
I also want to say a huge “Thank you” to Mr. Trump and his family for caring so much about our country to do what he did!
I was remembering all that President-Elect Trump went through during this election...the media (even Fox and Limbaugh for a time) interference/hostility, the elites—GOP, DEM and delegate plotting to no avail resulting in a primary victory, the amazing General Election VICTORY, more MSM media hostility and Democrat demands for recounts. However, he withstood all the storms, overcame all of it and now here we are at this sweet place, this historical time where our candidate from a year ago Donald J. Trump will become the 45th President of the United States in less than 24 hours :)
What a ride...I am just so exceedingly proud of our wonderful candidate. In watching the inauguration coverage, I find myself alternating between grinning and tearing up. I have such a surge of patriotism; we truly can make America Great Again—and I say ‘we” because I expect President Trump will need our help to push through his agenda!
So I have had a counter running and as I said, we are now down to less than 24 hours! Unbelievable Prayers answered, Victory is ours, Liberation has begun :)
I am looking forward to sharing the inauguration with you all over the next couple days!
How does it feel? It feels GREAT!!!
Fregards!!!

My guess is, he wants to snort some coke or smoke one more joint in the white hut before his ass is kicked out tomorrow

Unless it’s a very limited guest list, or just weird cam placement, that venue seems on the smallish side ?

Just watched the YouTube video of Lee Greenwood singing God Bless the USA. Incredible!!! Any links for the whole concert? That moment alone was incredibly beautiful.

913 - thanks. The finale is pretty spectacular. I had it on the stereo speakers rather than the tinny little laptop speakers and it was just moving.

If I were his mother I would have said enough and his public appearances would be rare after some were so unkind. Barron is a child, and he is not President so no need for him to have to be in a harsh spotlight.

I was going to ask about the Deploraball. I like the name, but the clientele is probably a notch or two up the socioeconomic ladder from my position.
