Trump Entering White House Unbent and Unpopular (NY Slimes Unending Untrue Alert)
The New York Slimes ^ | 2017-01-17 | Peter Baker

Posted on 01/17/2017 6:42:46 PM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

WASHINGTON — In one way at least, President-elect Donald J. Trump has already surpassed all of his recent predecessors. It took Barack Obama 18 months in the White House for his approval rating to slip to 44 percent in Gallup polling, and it took George W. Bush 4½ years to fall that far. Mr. Trump got there before even being sworn in.

Indeed, Mr. Trump will take office on Friday with less popular support than any new president in modern times, according to an array of surveys, a sign that he has failed to rally Americans behind him, beyond the base that helped him win in November. Rather than a unifying moment, his transition to power has seen a continuation of the polarization of the election last year.

Where other presidents used the weeks before their inauguration to put the animosities of the campaign behind them and to try to knit the country together again, Mr. Trump has approached the interregnum as if he were a television wrestling star. He has taken on a civil rights icon, a Hollywood actress, intelligence agencies, defense contractors, European leaders and President Obama. The healing theme common at this stage in the four-year presidential cycle is absent.

“He seems to want to engage with every windmill that he can find, rather than focus on the large aspect of assuming the most important position on earth,” Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, said on CNN on Tuesday. “And obviously, apparently, according to the polls, many Americans are not happy with that approach when he has not even assumed the presidency.”

Before you feel bad, the first Republican President beat a four way field in 1860 with 39%.

Trump out-performed him in the face of an adverse and challenging political environment.

Unpopular, indeed.

Unbent, and very popular.

These guys just don’t get it.

I’m not hearing folks say, “Well I voted for him, but now I’m sorry I did.”

Instead I’m hearing, “I didn’t vote for him, but I think we should give him some time. We’ll see.”

So I’m not jumping on the Trump is very unpopular gravy train.

I call fake news! I know I’m about 150,000,000th in line on that. Glad to be.

There is no one popular vote but 50 individual ones. He won 30 out of 50, and won by 304(really 306) EV, and most counties across this country since Reagan.

The dems keep losing seats across the country and in DC. So tired of the media making it sound as if we’re “divided” when in reality it’s the cities vs the rest of the country.

Little Petey might want to get out a little more often and spend some time with “the little people.” He can always shower when he goes back to his “safe space”. I don’t know one person who is not delighted that Trump is about to become the President of the United States. NOT ONE! That’s pretty damn popular.

The mainstream leftist media doubling down on dumb, but that taint won’t go away.

Their shameful support for a corrupt and pathetic candidate and for a President who has been an abject failure will never be forgotten, nor re-written.

History always catches up, like it did when it rejected their failed attempts to re-write history and make a Carter look successful, or Al Gore look more Presidential. They are both historically considered failures, one as a terrible President and the other as a wrong headed visionary who would have been a terrible Presidential.

The one Democrat who has been successful since World War 2 (Kennedy and Johnson don’t count because of the assassination hype), Bill Clinton, and his major success... Staying out of the way of Republicans and not resigning after his impeachment. If he had resigned Al Gore would have ascended... God helped us. Of course, we may have Hillary to thank for that... I think Bill would have resigned but she wouldn’t let him. At least Nixon had that decency. Hillary would have walked down Pennsylvania Ave with Bill on a dog lease and with crowds shouting SHAME to hold on to her power.

Gallup wasn’t even involved in the election polling because they didn’t think they could do it correctly. The media has been beating this drum about DJT failing and not having good polls since he was running for the nomination. And they are not giving up after their embarrassing proclamations about HRC sure win. They wanna say “well our polls were accurate because she won the popular vote by around 3%”
WRONG MEDIA!
You had her winning Florida, PA, MI, and Wisconsin in 95% of your polls.

The reality is, they under sampled Republicans in every one of their polls last election cycle, and they’re doing the same now.

We’ll see how much the anti-white racists and heterophobes have on Trump’s popularity.

I agree.

I want to know more about the California vote too.

How many illegals voted?

California is the poster state for defending the Electoral College.

California had 4 million more votes for Hillary than Trump.

Another words, every popular vote Hillary got over Trump, came from California. Every single one, plus 1 million extra.

One state should never be able to erase the popular vote in the other 56 states. (LOL) > (49)
