Donald Trump will give his closely-watched Inaugural address this week. It will be a great one. Trust him. Fantastic even. Possibly beyond belief. Because he’s a great speech-giver. Everyone knows that. He does too.
But before then, Barack Obama – remember him? – gave a farewell address to Americans, many of whom have stopped paying attention to a lame duck and all his goodbyes.

Agree. Eventually, his lecturous condescending professorial style will begin to grind even on his most devoted followers....
I have a feeling, over the course of the next few months Obama will come out and give a few anti-Trump speeches over things like Obamacare, they will get a ton of glowing press coverage, but elicit little more than a yawn from Congress and not change the political dynamic any. Then as the media realizes he is not the savior they need, they will quickly turn their sites on other potential 2020 democrat candidates to lead the party, and once Obama realizes he isn't getting the media love he craves, he will slink back into obscurity to write his memoirs...
Remember Bill Clinton in 2001? That was supposedly the "long goodbye" too and yes, the media fawned over him all during Inauguration Day. But he was quickly forgotten about and faded away like Jimmy Carter and if not for Hillary, we would have been mostly spared his gaunt visage over the past election campaign.
