A new commemorative coin from the U.S. Mint and Treasury features a fresh depiction of Lady Liberty. With a crown of stars in her hair and a toga-like dress, she's as patriotic as ever. She's also, for the first time on an officially minted coin, portrayed as a black woman.
The United States Mint unveiled the 24k gold coin in commemoration of their 225th anniversary. Gaze upon her beauty in full:

British coins feature Athena.
American bullion coins Liberty.
And she looks pensive. Not angry.
The oddest Liberty is the one on Peace Dollars. Looks like she’s gasping for air.

Absolutely. Sorry, but politicians are just ugly.

The plan appears to be a series of "Liberty" represented by multiple ethnicities.
Collect the whole set ...
And at the end of the day, each one is 1oz fine gold.

For those who are into gold, this may be an excellent investment. It cannot lose value, but a lot of morons are going to care that it was the “first black” just like they cared that Barack Hussein was the “first black”. The difference is that the coin is not fool’s gold, so the value is likely to go up among collectors.

We will also see an Asian, an Hispanic, etc., which is fine with me; hopefully a white woman will also find her way into this series. (Native Americans have been on coins for a while.) By the way, the retail price for one of these babies will require a lot more disposable income in people’s pockets, so we need more employment! Right now these bullion coins can only be afforded by rich old white geezers.

Keepin’ it real on the money!
Hopefully, they’ll make her look like a gray (alien abductor) next.
More seriously, though, this is probably a nothing burger, unless she resembles a potty-mouthed rapper whom I don’t know.
