Donald Trump took questions from the media Wednesday for the first time since he was elected president on Nov. 8. And he quickly put to rest the idea that his rapidly approaching presidency would fundamentally change his tone, style or basic approach to issues and the media.
Consider:
Trump through a lawyer said he would not put his assets in a blind trust, the traditional way in which presidents wall off their private interests from their public obligations. Trump was also quick to note that as president it is impossible for him to, legally speaking, have a conflict of interest and, therefore, any steps he takes to separate his business interests from his presidency were above and beyond the call of duty. (This was a similar line of logic used by Trump's lawyer to explain how he would deal with the Emoluments clause.)
Trump refused to offer a timetable for the release of his tax returns. He insisted that the only people who care about his tax returns are reporters. (Not true!) As evidence that no one cares about his tax returns, Trump offered this: I won.
Given the chance to condemn Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump did not. Instead, he said it was an asset that Putin allegedly likes him. When asked directly about the Russian hacking of the election, Trump acknowledged it was probably Russia which is further than he has gone before but quickly pivoted to emphasize that Putin wouldn't be doing these sorts of things under a Trump administration.

Winning...MAGA!
As evidence that no one cares about his tax returns, Trump offered this: I won.
Cracks me up every time I hear this - I can't get enough!
Elections have consequences. Ah, where did I hear that before?
I remember when he first told them to suck it. And he got away with it. I have been supporting him ever since. Remember its not who is the perfect candidate. Its the candidate that has the stomach for the fight. DJT loves a good fight. Screw conventionality.
A couple of points:
With respect to #2, I should make it clear that intelligent presidents very rarely make specific charges. Feckless morons — like the soon-to-be ex president — have done it, making a joke of himself for all history by doing so.
I guess “WINNING” is somewhat tainted
But So Appropriate!
It does suck to be at war with the dem party AND the MSM but then I repeat myself. They are one and the same now.
Jail, its whats for Democraps.
The entire establishment across the board is making deals and no power to do it.
Trump cutting off CNN is a BIG message.
The “Democrat-With-A-Byline” wrote: As evidence that no one cares about his tax returns, Trump offered this: I won.
Wrong. The question was not framed by the reporter as “no one” caring, but about the American people in general:
Q. You dont think the American public is concerned about it?
TRUMP: No I dont think so. I won, when I became president. No, I dont think they care at all. I dont think they care at all.
He’s right ... if there was a consensus that the American people as a whole were concerned about it, he wouldn’t have been elected.
Trump was masterful today in his own special way.
He truly is my PRESIDENT now, something Obama or Hillary could never be.
The press claims that he will be sought after for destruction. They cite Richard Nixon.
Rush speaks of this from time to time. They do not have an ability to adapt to change where Donald Trump will lead the way.
The media is not winning.
RE Tax docs. Trump also refers people to the financials he posted when he filed as a candidate. He said that right after he said he was still being audited.
Alpha male on display.Pay attention jeb.
“As evidence that no one cares about his tax returns, Trump offered this: I won.”
Nobody cared when Obama used that line.
Jeb Bush: I hope Melania takes Trump’s phone away

Can’t wait til he finally does release his tax returns and there will be nothing to report on. Does anyone really think that his returns wouldn’t have been leaked by now if there were anything the least bit incriminating in them?
Sounds like it's full.
